SWIMMING & DIVING NOTEBOOK
The Vermont swimming and diving team (4-4, 1-1 America East) returns to action in the second semester Saturday as they travel to the Capital Region to face Siena (5-8, 3-3 MAAC). Action from the Siena Swim Center is set for 1 p.m. fans can catch all of the action for free on Siena All-Access at

SCOUTING THE SAINTS
- Siena is 5-8 this season including wins over Canisius, Merrimack, Rochester, Stony Brook and Saint Peter's.
- The Saints last competitive action was last Saturday January 4 at the Eagles Triple Distance Invitational hosted by Florida Gulf Coast.
- GayLynn Kirn was named MAAC Swimmer of the Week after winning the 100, 200 and 300 Free in Fort Myers last weekend.
- Jenna Wyner was honored as MAAC Diver of the Week after posting a personal best score of 186.45 in the one meter.
- The Saints finished seventh overall at the 2024 MAAC Swimming and Diving Championships.
- Last season Vermont topped the Saints 179-105 to kick off the second semester at Forbush Natatorium.
CATAMOUNTS COMPLETE FOUR-PEAT AT HAROLD ANDERSON INVITATIONAL
- From Nov. 21-24 the Catamounts competed at the Harold Anderson Invitational at URI and picked up their fourth straight title at the pre-Thanksgiving meet.
- Vermont won nine events and collected a UVM-record 877 points.
- Hally Laney was a key standout for Vermont she won the 200 Fly in a UVM Varsity record, pool record and meet record time of 2:00.91. Her third individual win of the weekend came by 1.66 seconds.
- First Year Emma Freer also set a UVM First Year record in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:03.47, she finished third in the event.Â
- Vermont also had a record-breaking 200 Free Relay performance on Friday evening. Ellie Fazio, Jackie House, Havan Layton and Laney set a meet and Tootell Athletic Center record with a time of 1:34.79.Â
SENIOR DAY ON TAP FOR NEXT SATURDAY JANUARY 18
- The Catamounts will close out the regular season next weekend with their final home meet from Forbush Natatorium as they host URI at 10 a.m.
- Prior to the meet start the Catamounts will honor their class of 2025 with their Senior Day Ceremony presented by the UVM Alumni Association. The ceremony will begin promptly at 9:45 a.m. and will be broadcast live along with the meet on AmericaEast.TV.
