COACH'S QUOTE
"We're proud of how we performed overall today and in the non-conference schedule in general," said Head Coach Kristi Huizenga. "Today we were able to get a jump early with three quality goals and it was nice to get so many players on the field today and throughout the season so far. We are looking forward to a full week of prep to start conference play."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vermont opened scoring in the 7th minute when Emma Warren worked her way up the left side of the field, crossing the ball in the box to Bailey Ayer who was there to bury her shot top left on the Stonehill goalkeeper, securing her eighth goal of the year to put the Catamounts ahead, 1-0.
- The Catamounts made it 2-0 in the 24th minute when Warren broke free up the left side of the field, crossing the ball into the box, similar to the first goal, but this time finding Kate Bossert who placed her header out of reach over the goalkeeper's hands, earning her fourth goal of the season.
- Tessa Weiss fed Sydney Remington in the 34th minute, who ripped a chip shot from 20 yards out, finding the back of the net to put Vermont ahead 3-0 and securing her second goal of the season in just as many games.
- Hannah Anselmo got the Skyhawks on the scoreboard in the 84th minute, maneuvering her way around numerous Catamount players and rifling a shot center high from just outside the box. Despite Dani Pollard getting a piece of the shot with her hand, the ball went bar down, cutting the Vermont lead to 3-1.
