CATS WEEKLY AWARD WINNERS
Two Catamounts brought home weekly Hockey East awards following their sweep of Holy Cross.
Kaylee Lewis was recognized as one of the two co-rookies of the week. Lewis netted two goals, including the game-winning goal in a 6-3 win Friday night. She continued her dominant performance Saturday evening, adding an assist.
Krista Parkkonen collected a goal and an assist in each game this weekend while blocking two shots and ending with a plus-four rating to earn her the Hockey East Defender of the Week honors. Parkkonen now leads all defensemen in both points (19) and goals (5).
MLYNKOVA RISES IN RECORD BOOKS
After scoring three goals last weekend, Mlynkova is now tied with Allie Knowles '99 for third all-time in goals scored for Vermont Women's Hockey with 46. Mlynkova has also slotted herself into sixth-place all-time for Vermont with 90 career points.

STARTING WITH POSSESSION
The Catamounts have continued to dominate the faceoff circle this season, leading the Nation in faceoff percentage with a 58.2% success rate. Last season, Vermont's 54.7% faceoff win percentage also ranked first in the conference. Natálie Mlýnková and
Evelyne Blais-Savoie are at the forefront of these wins for UVM with 234 on the season.
DEFENSIVE STOPPERS
Vermont ranks second in blocked shots within Hockey East, tallying an impressive total of 388.
Sara Levesque is tied for the fifth spot in Division I with an outstanding 59 blocks for the season, while
Krista Parkkonen secures the 16th spot nationally with 51 blocked shots this year.
ATTENDANCE RECORD RESET
Vermont broke the Hockey East home attendance record for the second straight year on November 10, smashing the previous record of 2,210. A whopping 2,705 fans attended Saturday's Pack the Gut Challenge game presented by the Windjammer against 15th ranked Boston College.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Boston College enters the weekend with 43 points landing them second in Hockey East. On the year, the Eagles are 14-9-6 (13-5-4 HEA) and are coming off a weekend split with Boston University.
BC has four different skaters with 10 or more goals on the season with Freshman Sammy Taber leading in scoring (11), assists (18), and points (29). Grace Campbell is the main netminder for the Eagles, posting a .924 save percentage while allowing 2.34 goals per contest and posting three shutouts this year.
SERIES HISTORY
Friday's contest will mark the 65
th all-time meeting between Vermont and Boston College. The Catamounts have an 8-51-5 record in the series all-time but are 4-2 in their last six meetings. On the season, the teams are 1-1 with BC coming back from a 3-0 deficit to win during Vermont's Pack the Gut Challenge. The Catamounts responded the next day with a 3-2 win behind
Maddy Skelton's game-winning goal late in the third period.
SCOUTING THE FRIARS
Providence comes into the weekend matchups coming off a tie and an overtime loss with 11
th-ranked UConn. On the season, the Friars have earned 35 points with a record of 11-15-3 (10-9-3 HEA) ranking them fourth in the Hockey East standings.
Audrey Knapp and Reichen Kirchmair have each netted double-digit goals for PC this season with 12 and 11, respectively. Senior Forward Rachel Weiss leads the Friars in both points (19) and assists (14). Hope Walinski has been solid in net for Providence boasting a .909 save percentage while allowing 2.30 goals per game and providing three shutouts.
SERIES HISTORY
All-time, the Friars lead the series with Vermont 37-25-4 including a 6-0 and 4-3 overtime win earlier this season. Lewis scored two goals in the second matchup with Mlynkova adding the third before PC scored with 32 seconds remaining in regulation. Lindsay Bochna would go on to score the game-winning goal just nine seconds into the overtime period.
CATAMOUNTS LEADERSHIP GROUP

Jim Plumer has selected five student-athletes to lead the Catamounts during the 2023-24 campaign. 2023 World Championship bronze medalist Mlýnková will serve as captain for Vermont. The Catamounts will have four alternates this season with
Hailey Burns,
Sara Levesque,
Maddy Skelton and
Alaina Tanski. Skelton served as an alternate captain last season as well.
CZECH CAPTAIN IS BACK FOR MORE
Senior captain Mlýnková is the top returning scorer in Hockey East this season. She set new career highs in goals (23), assists (19) and points (42) last year.
OFFENSIVE TOUCH KEY TO HISTORIC CAMPAIGNS
Vermont scored over 100 goals in each of the last two years for the first time in program history on their way to back-to-back second place finishes in Hockey East with a program record of 22 wins in each campaign. Vermont returns 56.1% of its scoring from a year ago.
