SWIMMING & DIVING NOTEBOOK
The Vermont swimming and diving team (4-3, 1-1 America East) hits the road this weekend for their final dual meet of 2024 as they travel to face UConn (4-2) in Storrs, Conn. Action from the Wolff-Zackin Natatorium is slated to begin at 10 a.m.
 
CATAMOUNTS COMPLETE FOUR-PEAT AT HAROLD ANDERSON INVITATIONAL

• From Nov. 21-24 the Catamounts competed at the Harold Anderson Invitational at URI and picked up their fourth straight title at the pre-Thanksgiving meet.
• Vermont won nine events and collected a UVM-record 877 points.
• Hally Laney was a key standout for Vermont she won the 200 Fly in a UVM Varsity record, pool record and meet record time of 2:00.91. Her third individual win of the weekend came by 1.66 seconds.
• First Year Emma Freer also set a UVM First Year record in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:03.47, she finished third in the event. 
• Vermont also had a record-breaking 200 Free Relay performance on Friday evening. Ellie Fazio, Jackie House, Havan Layton and Laney set a meet and Tootell Athletic Center record with a time of 1:34.79. 

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES

• UConn is 4-2 this season including wins over URI, Southern Connecticut State and Sacred Heart.
• The Huskies other action against a common opponent as UVM came in a narrow 151-149 loss to Northeastern on Nov. 2.
• In their last competitive action, the Huskies finished first overall at the Bucknell Invitational Nov. 22-24.
• UConn was the Big East Runner-Up at the 2024 Championships. UConn Head Coach Chris Maiello and his staff was named Big East Co-Coaching Staff of the Year at the meet.

HEADING OUTSIDE FOR CSCAA OPEN WATER CHAMPIONSHIP

• On Sunday, December 15 six Catamounts – Ella Church, Jackie House, Dayle Snively, Natalie Schlemmer and Lauren Clark will compete at the CSCAA Open Water Championship in Biscayne Bay in Miami, Florida.
• The event, hosted by Florida International University, is a 5k race with the women slated for a 10 a.m. start.
