DULUTH, MN. – The Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs scored four unanswered goals as they defeated Vermont 4-0 Friday night at AMSOIL Arena. With the result the Catamounts drop to 3-12-2 (2-7-2 WHEA) while the Bulldogs rise to 9-5-1 (7-4-1 WCHA).

"There were some bright spots in tonight's game but ultimately Duluth got the better of us," said Head Coach Jim Plumer. "They are an excellent team and their national ranking is well deserved. I liked the way we started the game and hopefully we can put more good stretches together tomorrow."
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Bulldogs got the scoring started 10:39 into the opening period, seeing Caitlin Kraemer take an initial shot in the slot during a three-on-two rush, ringing the puck of the post, leaving a prime rebound for Danielle Burgen to bury her third goal of the season, earning the 1-0 advantage.
• At the 12:17 mark of the first period, Clara Wieren scored her 100th career point, shooting the puck while spinning away from a Catamount defender, doubling UMD's lead, 2-0.
• Less than 90 seconds into the middle frame, Ida Karlsson made it 3-0 when she received a pass from Mary O'Brien at the blue line, taking a few strides to the middle where she unleashed a rocket to the top left corner of the net, scoring her second goal of the season, extending the UMD advantage to three early in the second period.
• Six seconds into the Bulldog's first powerplay of the game, Olivia Mobley notched her 50th career goal, earning UMD a 4-0 lead 16:48 into the middle period.
• After a scoreless final period, the Bulldogs skated away with the 4-0 victory on Friday night.

• Lara Beecher earned a game-high six shots on net, coming one shy of her season high seven shots on goal.
• Evelyne Blais-Savoie tied a game-high 12 faceoff wins to go along with three attempted shots, pinning one on net.
• Rose-Marie Brochu also earned a game-high 12 faceoff wins,
• Jane Gervais tallied 35 total saves, the fourth time this season earning 35 or more saves in a game.
