BURLINGTON, Vt. – For the second straight home meet the Catamounts won 12 events topping Maine 178-119 Saturday afternoon in Vermont's annual Military Appreciation Meet presented by Milton CAT. It was also the annual Spread Respect Meet an America East initiative.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Just like last Saturday the Catamounts opened the meet with a 200 Yard Medley Relay win. Vermont's combo of Alexis Torykian, Ellie Fazio, Hally Laney and Havana Layton won the event by 2.79 seconds with a time of 1:47.89.
- Laney led the way for the Catamounts with three wins Saturday. She claimed the 100 Fly (57.78), 200 Fly (2:05.90) and 200 IM (2:09.99) for Vermont. It was the second time this season that Laney has swept the 100 and 200 Fly.
- Jackie House won two events on Saturday sweeping the 200 and 500 Free. She won the 200 by 3.16 seconds and the 500 by 2.60 seconds.
- Ella Church won the 1000 Free for the Catamounts in a season-best time of 10:40.81.
- For the second straight year Tannah Proudfoot swept the diving events against the Black Bears. She posted 245.33 points in the three meter and 258.75 points in the one meter. Her one-meter score was her best since the 2023 URI Invitational.
- Torykian earned her first individual win of the season in the 100 Back, finishing in a time of 58.78, her second-best time of the year.
- Jocelyn LeGere earned her second win of the season with a season-best time of 2:07.43 in the 200 Back.
- Natalie Schlemmer picked up her fifth win of the year taking the 200 Breast in a time of 2:24.98. She finished 1.22 seconds ahead of her closest competition in winning the event for a second time this year.
WHO'S NEXT
The Catamounts return to action in three weeks as they travel to Rhode Island for the 2024 Harold Anderson Invitational at the Tootell Aquatic Center in Kingston. Vermont will be looking to threepeat in the event. The event will be run from Thursday, November 21 to Sunday, November 24.
