BURLINGTON, Vt. – After a pair of conference road games, the Vermont women's hockey team (3-8-2, 2-5-2 WHEA) returns to Gutterson Fieldhouse on Wednesday (Nov. 20) for a non-conference matchup against Union College at 6 p.m. in the first game of a three-game home-stand. All the action will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with Rob Ryan on the call. The game will also be aired live on TSN+. The first 100 students will receive a $5 Dunkin gift card.

VERMONT OUTLOOK
- The Catamounts have earned results in six of their last seven conference games, posting a 2-3-2 record in those seven games. Two of Vermont's losses came in overtime, earning a single Hockey East point for each of those contests.
- Vermont most recently wrapped up a weekend series on the road in Providence, R.I. facing the Friars, seeing both games end in a shootout. Providence came out with the extra point on Friday (Nov. 15), but the Catamounts pounced back the next day, securing an extra point, winning the shootout on Saturday (Nov. 16).
- Jane Gervais combined for 52 total saves throughout the weekend series with Providence, posting her second shutout on the campaign on Nov. 16 in the 0-0 tie (UVM won the shootout, 1-0). Sophomore defender Ashley Kokavec netted the shootout winner for Vermont.
- The Catamounts have dominated in the faceoff circle to begin the season, ranking 8th in the Nation in faceoff win percentage with a 55.1% success rate, good for second in Hockey East. Evelyne Blais-Savoie is at the forefront of these wins for UVM, individually ranking 8th in the Nation and first in Hockey East with 168 total wins on the campaign.
- Kokavec has recorded six points on two goals and four assists so far this season, tied for fifth most amongst blue liners in Hockey East.
- Lara Beecher leads the team in points, earning eight thus far on three goals and five assists, tied for 22nd in Hockey East.
- Gervais's two shutouts this season is ranked third in Hockey East and 13th across the nation.
- Blais-Savoie's four goals thus far leads the squad in that department, tied for 18th in Hockey East.
SCOUTING UNION
- Union is 5-9-0 overall this season and 3-3-0 during ECACH play.
- Union currently holds a 3-3-0 record when playing at home and are 2-6-0 when playing on the road.
- The Garnet Chargers have faced a gauntlet of competition recently, facing a top 10 ranked opponents the past four games in a row, #9 Cornell, #6 Colgate, #6 Clarkson, and #8 St. Lawrence. Union fell to #6 Colgate 4-3, #8 St. Lawrence 3-0, and #6 Clarkson 3-2 (OT), but were victorious vs #9 Cornell 3-2.
- Union comes to Burlington playing in the fifth game of a six-game road trip for the Garnet Chargers.
- The Garnet Chargers have had the most goals against in their conference.
- Union is led by first year forward Karianne Engelbert, who's posted a team high 13 points on a team high nine goals and four assists. Engelbert's nine goals is good for fourth highest in the ECAC.
- Sophomore forward Maddie Leaney is the only other Garnet Charger with double digit points, notching 12 total points so far this season on three goals and a team high nine assists.
- Vermont holds a perfect 21-0-0 all-time record vs Union. In those 21 matchups with the Garnet Chargers, the Catamounts have outscored Union 87-12, securing 11 separate shutouts and only allowing a high of two goals in a single game, two times.
- The last meeting between Vermont and Union was on Oct. 10, 2017 from Gutterson Fieldhouse, seeing the Catamounts earn their second highest win margin against the Chargers, 7-0. The highest win margin came in the first ever meeting on Feb. 20, 1999, when Vermont defeated Union 9-0 from Gutterson Fieldhouse.
