COACH'S QUOTE
"A lot of lessons on winning can be learned by watching that UMass Lowell team and their record reflects it," said Head Coach Stephen Wiedler. "From the net out, we didn't execute. Hard to win against a team like that if you don't execute."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The River Hawks opened the scoring with 4:47 to play in the first period on a delayed penalty. UMass Lowell crashed the Vermont crease in traffic and the puck crossed the line. It was initially waved off but after review was a good goal given to Matt Crasa.
- UMass Lowell doubled its advantage 40 seconds into the second period on a two-on-one rush during an extended period of four-on-four play. Scout Truman looked to shoot and fired a perfect shot top corner for his fifth goal of the season.
- Dillan Bentley closed out the scoring for the River Hawks with his fourth goal of the season 11:26 into the third period.
