BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont (3-8-0, 2-5-0 HEA) returns to Hockey East action this weekend, traveling to Providence, RI for a weekend series with the Providence Friars (6-6-0, 3-5-0 HEA) from Schneider Arena. Friday (Nov. 15) has a puck drop scheduled for 12 p.m. while on Saturday (Nov. 16) puck drop will be at 2 p.m. Both games will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

VERMONT OUTLOOK
- The Catamounts are tied with Providence and New Hampshire for fifth place in Hockey East.
- Last weekend, Vermont earned a single conference point after going to overtime with Holy Cross from Gutterson Fieldhouse. Ashley Kokavec scored UVM's lone goal, her second of the season, adding to her point streak, five points in just as many games.
- The Catamounts have dominated in the faceoff circle to begin the season, ranking 7th in the Nation in faceoff win percentage with a 54.9% success rate, good for first in Hockey East. Evelyne Blais-Savoie is at the forefront of these wins for UVM, individually ranking 8th in the Nation and first in Hockey East with 145 total wins on the campaign.
- Lara Beecher leads the team in points, earning seven thus far on three goals and four assists, tied for 19th in Hockey East.
- Blais-Savoie's four goals this season leads the squad in that department, tied for 14th in Hockey East.
- Grace Nelles ranks third in the conference in game-winning goals, earning two so far this season, tied for 10th in the country.
- Rose-Marie Brochu has recorded a point in three of her last five games, totaling four points in five games including a multi-point game vs New Hampshire on Oct. 25 when she tallied one goal and one assist.
- Kokavec has registered five points in five games, the longest point streak in her UVM career. The sophomore blue-liner is tied for 10th in Hockey East for +/- rating, holding a team high +5 rating on the season thus far.
- Kokavec's six points on two goals and four assists is tied for fourth most by a defender in Hockey East.
- Anna Podein leads the team in blocked shots, securing 23 thus far followed by redshirt freshman Josie Hemp, who's racked up 20 blocked shots of her own to start the campaign.
- Vermont returns a handful of familiar faces including member of the 2024 Hockey East All-Rookie Team, Kaylee Lewis, who finished her first season with 10 goals and eight assists for 18 total points, good for third most amongst Hockey East rookies last season. UVM also brings back Blais-Savoie, who earned 21 total points last season on seven goals and 14 assists, good for second highest on the team. The 2023 Hockey East Rookie of the Year, Beecher, returns for her third season in a Catamount uniform after posting a 19-point season in 2023-24 on nine goals and 10 assists.
SCOUTING THE FRIARS
- Providence is 6-6-0 overall this season and 3-5-0 during Hockey East play.
- The Friars hold a 5-2-0 record when playing at home and are 1-4-0 when playing on the road.
- Providence's three conference wins come against Maine, No. 14 Northeastern, and UNH.
- The Friars are 2-3 in their last five matchups, being outscored 14-19 in those five matchups.
- Providence is the lone Hockey East school to have four players with double digit points on the season thus far.
- Reichen Kirchmair leads the team with 13 points on five goals and a team high eight assists, followed by Audrey Knapp who's posted 12 points on a team high seven goals and five assists. Millie Sirum and Hannah Johnson round out the top scorers with 11 points each. Sirum has notched six goals and five assists while Johnson has tallied four goals and seven assists.
- As a team, Providence ranks first and second in Hockey East amongst numerous categories, including total assists (74), total goals (38), powerplay goals (7), and total points (112).
- Vermont holds a 23-37-5 all-time record vs Providence. In the last meeting between these two programs last season on Feb. 10, 2024, the result ended in a 2-2 tie, but the Catamounts earned the extra conference point securing a 1-0 shootout win on the road in Providence, RI.
