BURLINGTON, Vt. – Following a solid conference showing at UNH last weekend, Vermont remains on the road for more Hockey East play, traveling to Orono, ME for a weekend set with the Black Bears. Both Friday (Nov. 1) and Saturday (Nov. 2) puck drops are slated for 2 p.m. with all the action being broadcast live on ESPN+.

VERMONT OUTLOOK
- The Catamounts earned four conference points last weekend, their first of the season, defeating New Hampshire 4-3 on Friday before dropping a 3-2 overtime loss in Saturday's NESN game. Evelyne Blais-Savoie scored two goals for Vermont, building on her team-high four goals on the season.
- Vermont has dominated in the faceoff circle to begin the season, ranking 10th in the Nation in faceoff win percentage with a 55.2% success rate, good for first in Hockey East. Blais-Savoie is at the forefront of these wins for UVM, individually ranking seventh in the Nation and first in Hockey East with 110 total wins on the campaign.
- In the last four games for UVM, the Cats have earned results in three, including a ranked shutout win over #7 St. Lawrence.
- The Catamounts elevated their production offensively last weekend vs the Wildcats, finding the back of the net six different times in two games, the most offense produced on a weekend set thus far.
- Four different Catamounts notched their first goal of the season vs New Hampshire during the most recent weekend series. Rose-Marie Brochu, Grace Nelles, Hailey Eikos and Ashley Kokavec all lit the lamp for Vermont, securing their first tallies on the campaign.
- Lara Beecher recorded two assists vs UNH, adding to her team-high seven points on the season.
- Kyla Bent is currently tied for third in Hockey East for most points by a defender so far this season, tallying five points on one goal and four assists, most recently notching an assist vs UNH. Kokavec (four points) and Josie Hemp (three points) aren't far behind, ranking tied for fourth and fifth respectively.
- Vermont returns a handful of familiar faces including member of the 2024 Hockey East All-Rookie Team, Kaylee Lewis, who finished her first season with 10 goals and eight assists for 18 total points, good for third most amongst Hockey East rookies last season. UVM also brings back Blais-Savoie, who earned 21 total points last season on seven goals and 14 assists, good for second highest on the team. The 2023 Hockey East Rookie of the Year, Beecher, returns for her third season in a Catamount uniform after posting a 19-point season in 2023-24 on nine goals and 10 assists.
SCOUTING THE BLACK BEARS
- Maine is 1-7-0 overall on the campaign and 1-3-0 in Hockey East play.
- Maine has played some tough competition to start the season, facing off against a top 15 ranked opponent in six of their first eight puck drops.
- The lone win of Maine's season thus far came against Providence, defeating the Friars 3-2 on home ice during their second game of a series set. Providence came out victorious the first game, 3-2.
- Maine is one of three Hockey East schools to record a shorthanded goal so far this season.
- The Black Bears are led by first year forward Stephanie Jacob who has a team-high four points on two goals and two assists. The team also leans on senior forward Alyssa Wruble, who's tallied a team-high three goals on the season thus far.
- Vermont holds a 25-31-10 all-time record vs Maine with the most recent win coming on February 11, 2023, during a 3-0 shutout win from Gutterson Fieldhouse.
