BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont (8-5-3, 3-4-0 AE) women's soccer honored its five seniors,
Bailey Ayer,
Kate Bossert,
Maddy Cronin,
Torie Snyder, and
Tessa Weiss, for the team's annual Senior Day presented by UVM Health Advantage on a sunny Sunday afternoon from Virtue Field. Despite the Catamounts out shooting Binghamton (6-5-3, 3-2-1 AE) and winning the time of possession battle, the Bearcats were able to walk away with the 3-0 road victory as playoffs quickly approach.

Senior Day Ceremony
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Binghamton found the opening goal 8:09 into the match, finding the back of the net when Anna Buckwalter was fed in front by Hannah Mimas on a cross pass, placing her shot low center on goal, earning Binghamton the early 1-0.
- Mimas doubled Binghamton's lead in the 13th minute, pinning her shot to the low right corner, earning the Bearcats a two-goal cushion, 2-0, early in the first half.
- Between the 15th minute and the 22nd minute, both Emma Warren and Jill Brody dialed up shots on net, Warren placing her shot to the top left corner and Brody firing low center, but the Bearcat keeper stood strong, denying each opportunity.
- A yellow card on Bella Brown awarded the Catamounts a free kick opportunity, taken by Bailey Ayer, but her shot was sent over the net, sparing the Binghamton lead.
- The Bearcats notched the third goal of the game in the 50th minute, scored by Lauren Clark, giving them a three-goal cushion five minutes into the second frame.
- Throughout the remainder of the second half, six different Catamounts recorded a shot, executing nine separate attempts.
- Vermont saw it's best chance of the match halfway through the second half when a loose ball in the goalies box nearly resulted in Bossert touching the ball pass the goal line amidst traffic, but a Bearcat defender came swooping in, knocking the ball out of harms way.
- Binghamton didn't break for the remainder of the match, walking away with the 3-0 road victory from Virtue Field.

After the match with Binghamton, Vermont will get a week to prepare for their regular season finale as they head down to Smithfield, RI for a conference showdown with the Bryant Bulldogs on Sunday (Oct. 27) at 1 p.m. Sunday's regular season finale will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
