BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont Cross Country will host the Fall Foliage Invitational on Sunday (Oct. 20) at Hard'Ack, which will also be their annual Spread Respect meet. The Women's 5k will begin at 12:30 p.m., with the Men's 8k following at 1:15 p.m.
SPREAD RESPECT INITIATIVE
Spread Respect is an initiative developed by the America East Conference to raise awareness and ensure equality and safety for all student-athletes, coaches, and fans without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity. The initiative began during the 2019-2020 campaign and continues throughout all sports presented by the America East Conference.

VERMONT WOMEN OUTLOOK
- Two weeks ago, the Catamounts competed at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh.
- Vermont came in fifth in the college brown race with 234 points.
- Clare Kelly (17th) was the Catamounts' top finisher that day, with a time of 21:59.8. Caroline Deiss was the second runner across the line, in 26th, with a time of 22:12.4.
- Emma Leary (33rd), Claire MacDonald (64th), and Siena Stanley (94th) rounded out the scoring for Vermont. Leary finished in 22:25.0, MacDonald crossed in 22:50.6, and Stanley crossed in 23:07.6.
VERMONT MEN OUTLOOK
- Last week, the Catamounts competed in the New England Championships in Hopkinton, New Hampshire, and finished 5th overall with 150 points.
- William Locke was Vermont's top finisher, finishing 12th with a personal best of 24:55.1. Bennett Harrison-Michaels was the second Catamount across the line in 26thplace with a time of 25:16.82.
- Elliot Hawley (29th), Jameson Sparks (42nd), and Tommy Wolfe (45th) rounded out the Vermont scoring that afternoon.
- Hawley finished at 25:18.4, Sparks at 25:37.4, and Wolfe came across the line at 25:39.89.
SCOUTING THE FIELD
- The Catamounts will compete against Bryant, Binghamton, UAlbany, Marist, and Sacred Heart this weekend.
- Binghamton also attended the Paul Short Run, with the women's team finishing 39th out of 42 and the men finishing 38th out of 44.
- UAlbany last competed at the RPI Harvest classic, with the men's team finishing in 2nd and the women's team finishing in 1st.
- Bryant last competed at the New England championships, where the men's team finished 7th and the women's team finished 5th.
- Marist last competed in the Metro Championships, with the women taking fourth and the men taking third. The Marist men will also race in the IC4A Championships before coming to Burlington.
- Sacred Heart men and women last competed at the New England Championships, with the women taking sixth and the men taking 14th.
