BURLINGTON, Vt. – After their big win Tuesday over UConn the Vermont (6-1-4, 1-0-1 AE) men's soccer team which is currently on a 10-game unbeaten run returns to action Sunday as they host NJIT (4-5-2, 1-1-0) in America East action. The matchup from Virtue Field is set for 2 p.m. The action will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with Ryan Zimmerman on the call.
Sunday is the Catamounts Rally Around Mental Health Game presented by Redstone Lofts and the United Way Northwest Vermont. Sunday is also Poster Day presented by UVM Print & Mail. Be sure to stick around postgame for autographs from the Catamounts.

INSIDE THE MATCHUP
- The Catamounts will be looking to avenge a pair of losses to NJIT last season. The Highlanders topped UVM 1-0 at home on Oct. 7 and then knocked the Catamounts out of the America East Tournament with an 2-1 win at Virtue Field in the America East Quarterfinals.
- Last season the Catamounts only lost six times total, two of those came at the hands of NJIT. Before last year UVM was 5-0-0 all-time against the Highlanders.
- NJIT defender Eric Sadlocha was named America East Rookie of the Week on Monday. He scored the first goal in a 2-1 victory over Binghamton while playing the full 90 minutes. It was Sadlocha's second America East Rookie of the Week honor.
- The NJIT offensive attack is extremely balanced. Seven players have scored two or more goals this season for the Highlanders.
- The Catamounts will likely face a new goalkeeper on Sunday, Wake Forest and Akron transfer Devin Armstrong has started 10 games this season including both conference contests. He has maintained a 1.46 goals-against average and a .711 save percentage.
BIG BOOST IN THE RPI
After the Catamounts 1-0 win over UConn Tuesday, they jumped to 30th in the RPI. They are now the top team in America East in the RPI for the first time this season.
HERCEG GETTING COMFORTABLE IN THE VERMONT NET
First year goaltender
Niklas Herceg has now made three starts in net for the Catamounts. Tuesday's 1-0 win over UConn was his first career collegiate clean sheet, he made three saves. He is now 2-0-1 in three starts with a 1.00 goals-against average and .769 save percentage.
CATAMOUNT OFFENSE CONTINUES TO IMPRESS
- Since 2021 the Catamounts are 20-0-0 when scoring three or more goals.
- The Catamounts haven't lost a game since August 22 and currently on a 10-game unbeaten streak.
- The Catamounts are scoring 2.27 goals-per game which ranks 18th nationally. In the last seven games Vermont has scored 21 goals.
- UVM ranks 16th nationally with 15.27 shots-per game.
- The Catamounts rank first in America East in goal differential (+14) and goals per game (2.27).
