THE BOSS
Kate Bossert has been on a tear this season, leading the Catamounts with six goals and 13 points. She is also tied for second on the team in assists. In the victory against Stonehill (Sept. 10) she netted her first career brace and her third game-winning goal of the season. Her six goals, three game-winners and 13 total points are all good for second among America East players.

HOLDING DOWN THE NET
Kylee Carafoli has been an anchor between the pipes for Vermont registering three wins, a .51 goals against average and a .913 save percentage with 21 total saves. Her goals against average, save percentage and total goals allowed (2) are all second among qualifying America East goalkeepers. Her 5.25 saves per game is third in the America East.

SPREADING THE WEALTH
Vermont has gotten contributions from all over this season with six different goal-scorers. Bossert leads Vermont with six goals. Junior Maddy Cronin scored her first collegiate goal against Merrimack. Alyssa Oviedo is second on the team with two goals this season. Tessa Weiss scored her first career goal and earned her first collegiate points with a goal against Stonehill. Lauren DeGroot has also scored a goal for the Catamounts this season. Bailey Ayer leads Vermont and is tied for the America East lead with four assists while also adding a goal to her tally. Aubrey BoughKaley Kreutzer, Abbey Knobel and Sydney Remington have each recorded a point for the Catamounts via assist as well.

AMERICA EAST PRESEASON POLL
The Catamounts were selected seventh in the America East Preseason Poll receiving no first place votes and a total of 21 points.

The Black Bears received one first place vote and a total of 47 points as they were selected to finish third in the America East Preseason Poll.

SCOUTING THE BLACK BEARS
Maine has outscored their opponents 18-6 and have not surrendered a multi-goal game yet this season. The Black Bears have outshot their opponents 100-54, while putting 50 percent of their shots on target. Junior Abby Kraemer is leading Maine in goals, points, shots and shots on goal while being tied for the lead in assists. Kraemer's goals, points and shots on goal lead all America East players. However, the Black Bears have spread the wealth with 13 different players recording a point with five having four or more points, 10 different players have scored and five players have two assists. Senior Tegan Morrison is tied for second on the team with four points on one goal and two assists. Graduate student Kira Kutzinski has played every minute in net for the Black Bears registering 28 saves, an .824 save percentage and a .075 goals against average.

INSIDE THE SERIES
This will be the 35th matchup all-time between the Black Bears and the Catamounts with Vermont holding a 17-11-6 advantage. Last season, Maine defeated Vermont 3-2 on Virtue Field. Bossert scored a goal on an assist from Remington in that game and Jill Brody recorded an assist as well. Kraemer led the Black Bears in that win with two goals while Emma Schneider scored the game-winning goal in the 74th minute. Erin Murphy finished with three saves for the Catamounts in that meeting. Vermont holds the longest winning streak in the series having taken the first 11 games in the matchup (1990-2000). Maine's longest winning streak in the series came from 2001-2006 where they won seven straight matchups. In the last five meetings, Vermont is 2-1-2 and have outscored the Black Bears 8-6 in those contests.

WHO'S NEXT
Following Sunday's game, the Catamounts will return to Virtue Field to finish their non-conference schedule against Siena on Wednesday, September 20. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with Brian McLaughlin on the call. The game will also be available through international stream on AmericaEast.TV.
