Maine is currently No. 7 in the America East standings after its 84-49 win over UMBC on Saturday (Feb. 4). The Black Bears have won three-straight home games, including victories over then-conference leaders UMass Lowell (W, 75-70) on Jan. 25 and Binghamton (W, 78-57) on Jan. 22. Gedi Juozapaitis leads the Maine attack, averaging 15.4 points per game. Kellen Tynes also averages double figures, with 14.4 points per game. Tynes leads the nation in steals per game (3.1).

Vermont has won 25-straight meetings with Maine, including nine of the last 10 trips to the Pine Tree State. UVM finished the 2021-22 regular season with a 75-56 victory at Cross Insurance Arena.

Matt Veretto has been one of the most efficient players in America East during conference play. The 6-8 forward has the highest offensive-efficiency rating (133.9) in the league by KenPom. The graduate student's effective field goal percentage of 68.8% leads the conference. Veretto is shooting 56.5% from the field, which ranks No. 2 among league foes.

Dylan Penn has averaged 13.8 points per game over his last four appearances, and has converted on 70.6% (24-34) of his field goal attempts. The fifth-year senior has a shooting percentage of 54.4% during America East play, which ranks No. 3 in the conference. Penn has made 61.0% of his field goal attempts in Vermont's league wins.
