The Catamounts (4-1, 0-1 AE) will return to action Saturday (Nov. 4) morning when they travel to Stanley M. Wallace Pool to face Maine (1-0, 0-0 AE) in another America East battle. The meet is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. and will be broadcast live on AmericaEast.TV.

AMERICA EAST WEEKLY HONORS
Tannah Proudfoot earned her second 2023-24 America East weekly award when she was named Female Diver of the Week (Oct. 24). Proudfoot, a first year, earned her second America East weekly honor of the season after earning first place in the one-meter and three-meter dive against New Hampshire. Her score of 280.95 in the one-meter dive was a UVM first year and varsity record, while her scored of 282.68 in the three-meter dive was also a Vermont first year and varsity record.
Jackie House has also earned an America East weekly award for the Catamounts this season when she was named Female Swimmer of the Week (Oct. 17).

CONTRIBUTIONS FROM ALL OVER
Vermont has had a great start to the season earning a victory over Merrimack while also claiming first place at the NJIT Invite, defeating all three teams with contributions from everyone. UVM earned four third place relay finishes at the NJIT Invitational in the 200 medley relay, 200 free relay, 400 medley relay and 400 free relay. House was a member of all four relay teams that earned crucial points for the Catamounts victory, while also earning two individual victories in the 500 free (5:06.34) and 200 free (1:53.70). Sophomore
Lilly Acker claimed first in the 200 breast with a time of 53.02. In the meet against New Hampshire, House earned her third straight victory in the 200 free finishing in 1:54.44. In the 500 free, House and teammate
Ella Church earned a 1-2 finish with House finishing in 5:08.29 and Church just .06 seconds behind. Proudfoot has had a strong start to the season for Vermont earning two America East weekly awards and setting the Vermont varsity and first year records in the one-meter and three-meter dive, while earning the victory in the each twice this season.

MEET TIMELINE
The Catamounts and Black Bears will be competing in a 16-event format on Saturday morning. There will be 12 individual swimming events along with two relays and the one-meter and three-meter diving events. The meet will begin at 11 a.m. with the 200 medley relay followed by the 1000 free, 200 free, 100 back, 100 breast, 200 fly and 50 free. Following those events, the one-meter dive will occur before the two teams face off in the 100 free, 200 back, 200 breast, 500 free and 100 fly. Following those swimming events Maine and Vermont will compete in the three-meter dive before finishing the competition off with the 200 IM and 200 free relay.

SCOUTING THE BLACK BEARS
Maine (1-0, 0-0 AE) defeated Maine Maritime Academy at home on Friday, October 20 by a score of 159-101. Sophomore Haylie Calver set a new school-record in the three-meter dive with a score of 291.23. Teammate Mia Poirier placed first in the 100 fly (1:01.02) and the 100 free (55.39). First year Eva Welsh claimed first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:12.77 while Kayla Loughman placed first in the 50 breast (30.78).

INSIDE THE SERIES
This will be the 14th all-time matchup between the two squads with Vermont holding a 13-0 advantage in the series. The first meeting between the Black Bears and Catamounts came in 2010 at a neutral site, where Vermont came away with a 175-119 victory. Vermont is currently 7-0 at Forbush Natatorium while facing Maine and are 5-0 on the road at Stanley M. Wallace Pool. Last season Vermont earned a 172.5-121.5 victory at Forbush Natatorium claiming 13 of 16 events. House claimed first in the 1000 free (10:32.56) and the 100 free (53.79) in that meet, while
Hally Laney placed first in the 100 fly (57.40), 200 fly (2:08.02), 200 IM (2:11.29) and was a part of the first place 200 medley relay that finished in 1:47.82.

WHO'S NEXT
Following Saturday's matchup with America East foe Maine, the Catamounts will return to action on Friday, November 17 when they take part in the Harold Anderson Invitational. The invitational will be a full three-day event starting on Friday, November 17 and going until Sunday, November 19. Events will take place at the Tootell Aquatic Center in Kingston, R.I.

HOME MEETS
The Catamounts have three remaining meets at Forbush Natatorium during the 2023-24 campaign. Following the Harold Anderson Invitational, the Catamounts will return to Forbush Natatorium on back-to-back weekends when they face UMass on Saturday, December 2 and UConn on Saturday, December 9. Both of those meets are scheduled to start at 12 p.m. and will be broadcast live on AmericaEast.TV. Vermont's final home meet of the season will be their annual Senior Day presented by MVP Health Advantage against Siena on Sunday, January 14. That meet is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
