Men's Basketball Hosts VTSU-Johnson Wednesday on Vermont Night

MEN'S BASKETBALL
UVM (4-1) returns home on Wednesday (Nov. 22) to host VTSU-Johnson (1-3) on Vermont Night, presented by Vermont Federal Credit Union. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET at Patrick Gym. Tickets are available for purchase at UVMathletics.com/Tickets or by visiting the Patrick Gym Box Office on gameday.
 
BROADCAST INFORMATION
The matchup between the Catamounts and Badgers will broadcast live on ESPN+ with Rob Ryan and Bernie Cieplicki on the call. An international stream will also be available on AmericaEast.TV. Fans can listen to the game for free on the Vermont Sports Network, from Learfield on The Game, which will air on 97.1 FM in Burlington, 105.9 FM in Plattsburgh, and 960 AM around the rest of the region. The radio broadcast is also available via the Varsity Network App with Brian McLaughlin on the call.

SCOUTING THE BADGERS
VTSU-Johnson will play former America East member Hartford on Tuesday night before coming to Patrick Gym. The Badgers have split their last two games, with a win over VTSU-Lyndon (W, 88-80) and a loss at Norwich (L, 85-66). Nazir Gossette (20.0 ppg) and Raymond Baka (18.0 ppg) lead the Johnson attack. Baka averages an impressive 15.0 rebounds per game.
 
RANKED AMONG MID-MAJORS
Vermont was ranked No. 18 in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 poll on Monday evening. The Catamounts moved up 11 spots after receiving votes and the unofficial No. 29 ranking a week ago. Mid-Major Madness ranked UVM No. 17, two spots ahead of Saturday's opponent, Bradley. The Field of 68 Media Network has Vermont ranked No. 7 in its "Cinderella Top 25".
 
IMPRESSIVE SHOWING AT MYRTLE BEACH INVITE
The Catamounts placed second in the Myrtle Beach Invitational last week, going 2-1 with wins over reigning CAA champion College of Charleston (W, 73-64) and the A-10's Saint Louis (W, 78-68). Vermont's lone loss of the weekend came in the title game against Liberty (L, 71-61) who is currently ranked No. 43 by KenPom, and is No. 4 in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 poll.
 
SHAMIR IN MYRTLE BEACH
UVM guard Shamir Bogues was named to the Myrtle Beach Invitational All-Tournament Team after averaging 13.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.7 steals. Bogues led the Catamounts in rebounding, and his scoring average was tied with TJ Long for the team lead. Bogues shot 51.4% (19-for-37) from the field in 33.6 minutes per game.  
 
WINNING NUMBERS SINCE 2000
Vermont has recorded 21 winning seasons in the last 23 years, including each season under Cioffi Men's Basketball Head Coach John Becker. The Catamounts have had a winning percentage of .600 or higher in 18 of those seasons, and .700 or higher in 12 seasons.
