YOUTH DAY
Sunday's matchup is Youth Day, presented by Healthy Living. All kids 12 and younger will receive a free ticket to the game upon arrival while tickets last. Face painting and other activities will be taking place, starting at 11:30 a.m. Sunday is also Poster Day, presented by the UVM Print & Mail.
BROADCAST INFORMATION
The matchup between the Catamounts and Highlanders will broadcast live on
ESPN+ with Rob Ryan and Bernie Cieplicki on the call. Fans can listen to the action for free on the Vermont Sports Network, from Learfield on The Game, which will air on 97.1 FM in Burlington, 105.9 FM in Plattsburgh, and 960 AM around the rest of the region. SCOUTING THE HIGHLANDERS
NJIT enters Sunday's matchup with two wins in its last four games. The Highlanders fell to Bryant 87-75 on Jan. 19. NJIT has gone to overtime twice in its five conference games, and have had three America East matchups decided by single digits. Miles Coleman leads the attack with 14.5 points per game this season. Kevin Osawe also averages double figures, posting 10.8 points per game. Osawe leads the Highlanders with 8.2 boards per game.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The Catamounts are 8-1 against the Highlanders in the all-time series, with the lone loss coming on a buzzer beater in 2021. Vermont earned victories in all three games against NJIT last season, including a 98-59 victory in the 2022 America East Quarterfinals.
Aaron Deloney averaged 13.7 points per game and a 63.6% three-point percentage against NJIT. In the regular season meeting at Patrick Gym last season, Deloney was a perfect 8-for-8 from the field, and 4-for-4 from deep en route to 24 points.
HOME SWEET HOME
Sunday's game marks the first time that Vermont has played consecutive home games this season. The Cats are 4-1 at home, and have outscored opponents by 14.4 points per game at Patrick Gym. Vermont is 215-51 (.808 pct.) in Burlington since the start of the 2002-03 season
WINS IN LEAGUE PLAY
Vermont is in search of its fourth win in America East play, and its second in as many games. The Catamounts have won by an average margin of 14.7 points per game in their three conference victories and have held opponents to a 38.8% field goal percentage, and 25.4% three-point percentage.
TJ IMPRESSES AS A ROOKIE
First-year guard
TJ Hurley has averaged 10.3 points to start league play. The rookie is shooting 55.6% (5-9) from 3PT and 50.0% (8-16) from the field in his first three conference games. Hurley is 44.4% from deep on the season and an outstanding 95.2% from the line. The Pelham, Ont. native has reached double figures in six of his last eight games, averaging 10.8 points during that stretch.
