BURLINGTON, Vt. – A four-goal fourth quarter led a UAlbany (4-6, 2-0 AE) rally as the Great Danes erased their deficit and defeated Vermont (8-3, 1-2 AE) 12-10 on Saturday afternoon at Virtue Field. The conference battle was the Rally Around Mental Health Game, presented by Inspired Closets.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Catamounts started strong with three straight goals in the first 5:09 of the game. Ava Vasile opened the scoring 30 seconds into the contest, before Meghan O'Connor and Taylor Mullen added woman-up goals for the 3-0 lead. UAlbany responded with goals from Katie Pascale and Sarah Falk, but Vasile added her second for the Catamounts to take a 4-2 lead through the opening quarter.
- The Great Danes opened the second quarter with three straight goals to take their first lead of the afternoon, up 5-4 with 11:31 to play in the frame. UVM countered with three more goals to pull back in front. McKenzie Ballard knotted the game at 5-5 less than a minute after the UAlbany goal, and Halloran put the Cats in front with 7:27 left in the half. Vasile capped of the three-goal run with her third marker of the game. Courtney Rowe and Grace Giancola would exchange goals in the final five minutes as Vermont would lead 8-6 at the break.
- The UVM lead would grow back to three goals with 10:49 left in the third quarter on Halloran's second goal of the game. Minutes later, Ava Poupard would bring the lead back down to two, before Giancola's second goal of the game that gave Vermont a 10-7 lead with 6:21 left in the third frame. Sarah Falk would score a late goal for the Great Danes who trailed 10-8 with one quarter remaining. Â
- UAlbany rattled off four unanswered goals in the final frame en route to the victory. Falk tied the game at 10-10 on a woman-up goal with 7:05 to play. Kathryn Sancilio netted the game-winner with 3:36 left in the contest.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Halloran wore No. 23 in the conference battle, which was also the "Vanessa Cox #23 Memorial Game". The Catamounts honored Cox '05, a UVM Athletic Hall of Fame inductee in 2015 and the program's all-time leader in points (173) and goals (133). Cox was tragically killed in a car crash in February of 2015 at the age of 31.
- Halloran posted two goals on four shots for the Catamounts. The senior also picked up one ground ball.
- Vasile registered her ninth hat trick of the season and added one assist in a four-point outing. The junior has 31 goals on the season, one short of last year's total. Vasile tallied 10 shots, including seven shots on goal, and scooped up two ground balls.
- Giancola's two goals came on six shots. The captain matched a team-high four draw controls – Kerry Gerety also won four draws.
- On defense, Carolyn Carrera caused five turnovers and picked up three ground balls.
- Sophie McLaughlin registered nine saves in goal for the Catamounts.
