Men's Basketball Continues Non-Conference Play Saturday at Colgate

MEN'S BASKETBALL NOTEBOOK
Vermont (5-7) heads back on the road Saturday (Dec. 10) for a non-conference matchup with Colgate (6-5) in Hamilton, N.Y. Tip-off is slated for 12 p.m. ET at on Cotterell Court at Reid Athletic Center.
 
BROADCAST INFORMATION
Saturday's game will broadcast live on ESPN+. Fans can listen to the action for free on the Vermont Sports Network, from Learfield on The Game, which will air on 97.1 FM in Burlington, 105.9 FM in Plattsburgh, and 960 AM around the rest of the region. The radio broadcast is also available via the Varsity Network App with Brian McLaughlin on the call.

SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
Colgate brings an undefeated home record into Saturday's contest. The Raiders own one of the better offenses in the country this season, ranking No. 45 in adjusted offensive efficiency. Colgate ranks No. 4 in effective field goal percentage (58.3%) and No. 7 in three-point percentage (41.6%). The Raiders have five players shooting over 40.0% from long range this season. Tucker Richardson is Colgate's leader with 16.5 points per game. The senior guard was named Patriot League Preseason Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. Richardson is one of five Raiders averaging double figures so far this season.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
Vermont is 23-11 in the all-time series versus the Raiders. Last year's matchup was the first since 1995, with the Catamounts taking a 78-68 win in Patrick Gym. Aaron Deloney led UVM in the home victory. Saturday's trip to Hamilton, N.Y. will be the first for Vermont since Jan. 5, 1995.
 
CLIMBING THE ALL-TIME LIST
John Becker passed John "Fuzzy" Evans for No. 2 on Vermont's All-Time Wins List with the victory over Merrimack on Sunday. Sitting at 262 wins, Becker has the No. 1 spot in sight, chasing Tom Brennan (264)
 
DELONEY'S BREAKOUT VS. COLGATE
Aaron Deloney produced what was then a career-high 18 points to lead Vermont to a 78-68 victory over Colgate last season. The UVM guard averaged 2.8 points per game, a 30.7 FG%, and a 22.1 3PT% in 50 career games leading up to that matchup. Since then, Deloney has averaged 10.1 points per game, a 47.6 FG%, and a 39.5 3PT% in 34 games.
 
CONSECUTIVE REGULAR SEASON TITLES
The Vermont-Colgate matchup features two mid-major programs that have dominated their leagues in recent years. Vermont has six straight conference regular season titles, which is the second longest active streak in the country. Colgate has won four straight regular season titles, which ranks fourth in the nation.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
TJ Hurley received his first America East weekly award on Monday (Dec. 5), earning the title of Rookie of the Week. The first-year guard averaged 15.0 points, shot 58.8% from the floor, and 53.8% from deep in victories over NVU-Lyndon (W, 101-63) and Merrimack (W, 66-43).
