AMHERST, MASS – The Catamounts continued a strong 2022-23 season defeating Binghamton 200-100. Vermont also competed against UMass falling 177.5-122.5 With the results today the Catamounts move to (6-3, 2-1 AE).

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Halley Laney continued her strong sophomore season piecing together a first place finishing in the 100 fly in a time of 57.12 while also taking second in the 200 IM and third in the 200 fly. In the 200 fly Laney finished in 2:08.51 while in the 200 IM she finished just .08 behind the leader in a time of 2:10.81.
- Jackie House had another dominant showing in her sophomore season taking the sweep in the 100, 200 and 500 freestyle. House finished first in the 100 free in a time of 51.89, the 200 free in a time of 1:53.06 almost a full four seconds ahead of the field. House also took home first in the 500 in a time of 4:59.46 which was a pool record and just ahead of teammate Ella Church.
- Church took home first I the 1000 freestyle in a time of 10:33.51 over four and a half seconds ahead of the field. In the 500 free she finished in a time of 5:04.85.
- Autumn Bullinger and Natalie Schlemmer continued their strong first year in Catamount Country with Bullinger taking second in 100 back in a time of 58.67 and was a part of the 200 freestyle relay that took second. Schlemmer claimed first in the 200 breaststroke finishing in 2:24.48 while also claiming third in the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:08.18.
- The Catamounts continued a strong season in the relays claiming fourth in the 200 medley in a time of 1:49.45 with the combination of Emma Wainwright, Natalie Schlemmer, Hally Laney and Mina Poppas. They also finished second in the 200 freestyle relay in a time of 1:30.29 with House, Bullinger, Cailin Campbell and Poppas.
- Poppas also finished second in the 50 free in a time of 24.48 and finished third in the 100 free coming in at 53.52.
UP NEXT
Following the Catamounts dual meet at UMass UVM will travel to Loudonville, N.Y. where they will take on Siena in their final road meet of the season on Sunday, January 15. The start time for that meet is scheduled for 1 p.m.
