WOMEN'S HOCKEY NOTEBOOK
After two hard-fought losses at No. 4 Colgate the 14th ranked Catamounts are back home this weekend at Gutterson Fieldhouse hosting No. 15 Boston College in a two-game set. Friday and Saturday's action will be at 3 p.m. as UVM faces the Eagles. Rob Ryan will have the call of both games on ESPN+.

SCHAFZAHL SHINING AGAIN
2022 All-American
Theresa Schafzahl has picked up where she left off last season. She has seven goals and five assists for 12 points in UVM's eight games this season. She has 45 shots on the year which is fourth most in the NCAA.

Schafzahl currently has 55 career assists in the green and gold tying her with
Ève-Audrey Picard (2016-20) for second all-time in program history. With Theresa's next assist she'll tie Amanda Pelkey's (2011-15) program record of 56. Schafzahl is already the all-time program leader in goals (57) and points (112).

POWER PLAY CLICKING EARLY
Currently at a 35.3% success rate the Catamounts have the fifth best power play in Division I. Vermont's 9.8% shooting percentage (even strength & PP) is ranked 10th in the NCAA. They are tied for fifth in the NCAA with six power play goals this season.

ALL STARTS WITH POSSESSION
The Catamounts are 10th in the NCAA and third in Hockey East winning 54.2% of their draws this season.
Theresa Schafzahl (65.8%) and
Evelyne Blais-Savoie (60.6%) are both ranked in the top-35 individually this season at the faceoff dot.

LONG CHANGE, LONG PERIOD
The Catamounts have been most effective this season during the second period, when both teams have the long change. UVM has outscored its opponents 12-4 in the second and outshot teams 87-47.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
The Eagles enter Friday's action at 5-2-1 overall and a perfect 4-0-0 in league play. Last weekend the Eagles swept a two-game home-and-home set with Boston University. BC won 3-0 at home on Friday and then defeated the Terriers 5-4 Saturday at Walter Brown Arena. Hannah Bilka had five points on the weekend extending her seven-game point streak. Bilka leads the Eagles in goals (6) and points (14).

Boston College has received exceptional goaltending from two of its netminders this season. Abigail Levy has gone 2-1-1 with a .950 save percentage, 1.58 goals against average and two shutouts while Grace Campbell is 2-1-0 with a .908 save percentage and 2.68 goals against average.

The Eagles are 0-2-1 this season against ranked teams. They earned a tie in a two-game set hosting #11 Penn State and fell 5-0 at #7 Quinnipiac on September 30.

SERIES HISTORY
Friday will be the 60th meeting in program history between the Eagles and the Catamounts. Boston College boasts a 49-5-5 edge in the series. Last season the Catamounts were 2-0-1 against the Eagles securing eight of a possible nine league points. On, December 10, 2021 the Catamounts defeated BC 3-1 at Gutterson Fieldhouse snapping a then 35-game unbeaten streak by the Eagles. It was the Eagles first-ever loss at the Gut.

CZECH-MATES EARN BRONZE
Vermont forwards Tynka Pátková & Natálie Mlynková earned bronze medals at the 2022 IIHF Women's World Championships in Denmark last month. Czechia defeated Switzerland 4-2 in the bronze medal game behind two goals from Mlynková. It was Czechia's first-ever medal on the women's side. Former Catamount Blanka Skodova was also a member of the team.

Krista Parkkonen (Finland) made her World Championships debut while
Sofie Skott (Denmark) and
Sini Karjalainen (Finland) competed in their second World Championship at the senior level.
