COACH'S QUOTE
"It was a great result against UMass team that's extremely difficult to play against," head coach Rob Dow said. "We had three different goal scorers, so really happy about that and to get 10 wins is a special season already."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Yaniv Bazini scored the game's first goal in the ninth minute after the Catamounts weathered an early UMass attack. The UVM forward converted on a rebound for his fourth goal of the season. Garrett Lillie was credited with the assist.
  • The offense opened up in the second half, with the Catamounts outshooting the Minutemen 5-2 in the first 15 minutes. Adrian Schulze Solano nearly doubled the Vermont lead in the 57th minute when he rifled a kick off the cross bar from deep outside the 18-yard box.
  • UVM did double its lead in the 64th minute on Alex Nagy's fourth goal of the season. Max Murray found Nagy for the late tally.
  • Jacob Vitale added an insurance marker for the Catamounts in the 71st minute when he pounced on a Noe Coutiño rebound and fired it past Matt Zambetti (4 saves).
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Nate Silveira recorded four stops to earn his fourth shutout of the season and 18th as a Catamount. The shutout extends Vermont's clean sheet streak to five straight games.
  • Nagy's goal extends his points streak to three straight games.
  • Coutiño's assist was the first point of his collegiate career.
  • The Catamounts finished the game with a 15-4 shot advantage.
  • With today's win, Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate $100 to COTS, the Committee on Temporary Shelter, as part of the Cats Win, Community Wins initiative. Since the campaigns inauguration in 2017, Vermont Mutual Insurance Group has donated over $72,000 to local non-profits.
UP NEXT
