No. 15 Vermont (9-1-1, 3-0-0 AE) continues its three-game homestand on Tuesday (Oct. 11) when it hosts UMass (6-0-6, 1-0-4 A10) at Virtue Field. SCOUTING THE MINUTEMEN
Unbeaten UMass comes to Burlington for its second meeting with an America East opponent this season. The Minutemen tied UMass Lowell 3-3 earlier this year on Sept. 20. The draw against the River Hawks was in the midst of four straight ties for the Minutemen, who have the second most draws in the nation this season. UMass is eighth in the country in shot accuracy, placing 52.0% of their shots taken on goal. Alec Hughes leads the UMass attack with team-highs in goals (8) and points (18). Matt Zambetti has earned 11 starts as goalkeeper for the Minutemen, posting a 0.79 goals against average and an .814 save percentage.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
Vermont and UMass will meet for the 39th time in series history. The Catamounts own a 22-10-6 all-time record against the Minutemen and are 7-2-1 in the last 10 meetings in Burlington. UVM has won three straight home games against UMass, including a 3-2 thriller at Virtue Field in 2016. The Cats last played the Minutemen a season ago, and took a 1-0 victory with Noah Egan scoring the game-winner in Amherst.
 
NATIONALLY-RANKED CATS
The Catamounts were ranked No. 15 in last week's United Soccer Coaches National Poll. The ranking is Vermont's highest ever by the United Soccer Coaches/NSCAA. UVM was also picked as the top team in the Northeast Region. Vermont is 10th in the NCAA's RPI ranking.
 
CATS ARE STREAKING
UVM owns the longest active winning streak in the country with eight straight victories. The eight-game winning streak for the first for a Vermont team since its historic 1989 season. The 2022 Catamounts are only the fourth team in program history to reach eight straight wins.

SINCE '75
Vermont has nine wins through 11 games for the first time since 1975 when the Cats were 10-1 en route to a Yankee Conference Co-Championship. The 2022 Catamounts are only the fourth team in program history with nine victories through the first 11 games.

Vermont has recorded a clean sheet in each of its last four games, and hasn't allowed a goal in 440:14 of game play. UVM's goals against average of .545 ranks eighth in the nation. Nate Silveira ranks 10th in the country with a .526 goals against average.
 
THE ASSIST MAN
Alex Nagy ranks fifth in the country in assists this season, with seven helpers through seven games played. Nagy is the only player among the nation's Top 100 in assists to average at least 1.0 assist per game.
