TAKING DOWN NUMBER ONE
On Friday afternoon, the Catamounts earned its first-ever win over a top ranked opponent defeating No. 1 Northeastern 2-1. Vermont native
Bella Parento scored the game-winning goal 6:15 into the third period. It was the Huskies first home loss since December 13, 2020 a run of 24 games. With the win UVM moved back into second place in Hockey East.
McPHERSON DIVING SAVE LANDS ON SPORTSCENTER
Jessie McPherson's diving save in the final minute of regulation Friday afternoon to preserve the Catamounts 2-1 win over No. 1 Northeastern was featured on SportsCenter Saturday as the number two play of Friday.

EIGHT-GAME POINT STREAK FOR SCHAFZAHL
Senior forward
Theresa Schafzahl is first in Hockey East scoring with 26 points this season. Schafzahl is currently on an eight-game point streak. She has eight goals and eight assists over that stretch. UVM is 7-1-0 over that stretch.
13 LEAGUE WINS, ONE MORE FOR THE RECORD
With seven games remaining in conference play the Catamounts have already reached the 13-win mark in Hockey East for the second time in program history. The 2013-14 team which was the first in program history to reach the Hockey East semifinals also won 13 league games.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
UNH sits in seventh place in Hockey East with a record of 7-10-1. On Friday night, they defeated Merrimack 2-1 as senior captain Maddie Truax scored the game-winner with 65 seconds left in regulation. Truax is third in the NCAA with 64 blocked shots this season. First year Kira Juodikis leads the team in scoring with 12 goals and six assists this season for 18 points. She scored twice against the Catamounts on December 4. She is second in rookie scoring in Hockey East this year behind Boston College's Abby Newhook.
The Catamounts are 16-30-6 in the all-time series with the Wildcats as the conference foes square off for the 53rd time this afternoon. The teams split the season series 1-1-0 last year in two contests at Gutterson Fieldhouse. The series is even at 5-5-3 the past 13 games, and five of those games have gone into overtime.
