WOMEN'S SOCCER NOTEBOOK
The women's soccer team completes a stretch of three games in five days this weekend as they face Army and Bryant. The Catamounts will host the Black Knights at 6 p.m. Friday night at Virtue Field. On Sunday, UVM will welcome Bryant to Manchester, Vermont as they host the Bulldogs in a neutral site contest from historic Applejack Stadium scheduled for 4 p.m.

FOUR CATAMOUNTS RIGHT AT HOME AT APPLEJACK STADIUM
Sunday will be a homecoming of sorts for four Catamounts –
Natalie Durieux,
Ella Bankert,
Katelyn Singer and
Cricket Basa played for the Vermont Fusion this summer in the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL). The Fusion play their home matches at Applejack Stadium. Former Catamount and two-time America East All-Conference Second Team honoree Brooke Jenkins '19 also played for the Fusion this summer.

OFFENSIVE ONSLAUGHT CONTINUES
The Catamounts offense has scored in each of its first five games for the first time since 2017. UVM's 2.2 goals-per-game is the top offense in America East. Only Hartford and UVM are averaging more than two goals-per-game. UVM is tied for 72nd amongst the 331 Division I teams.

MIHALE WORKING OVERTIME
Senior midfielder
Alexa Mihale has scored game-winning goals in two of the Catamounts last four games, both times in double overtime. The two tallies are the first of her collegiate career.

BALANCED ATTACK FROM THE CATAMOUNTS
Seven Catamounts (
Bailey Ayer,
Jill Brody,
Alex West,
Alyssa Oviedo,
Ella Bankert,
Alexa Mihale and
Cricket Basa) have three points or more this season. All seven of the Catamounts are at least tied for the top-20 in America East scoring.
SCOUTING ARMY
The Black Knights are 3-3-0 this season but have wins in three of their last four contests. Army is 0-2-0 this season on the road, they traveled to San Diego at the start of the campaign and dropped a 1-0 decision to San Diego State and a 3-1 decision to San Diego.

On Monday, sophomore forward Jasmine Talley was named Offensive Player of the Week and junior Dara Murray was awarded Midfielder of the Week for the Patriot League. Murray scored in back-to-back games for Army in wins against Saint Peter's and William & Mary. Talley had a goal and an assist in Army's 2-1 win over the Tribe.

In the 2021 Patriot League Women's Soccer Preseason poll the Black Knights were chosen to finish fourth in the league. During an abbreviated spring 2021 campaign Army was 4-1-0.

The Catamounts are 4-8-0 all-time against the Black Knights. UVM won the teams' last meeting on August 25, 2019. Junior
Karen Wallace scored the overtime winner, the first goal of her career, just 1:46 into overtime to give Vermont a 2-1 win.

SCOUTING BRYANT
The Bulldogs are 0-5-0 this season although three of their five losses have been by one goal. Bryant has scored just two goals on the campaign thus far. Bryant has been no stranger to the America East this fall hosting Binghamton (L, 3-1), Maine (L, 1-0) and UMass Lowell (L, 1-0).

First year Catherine Bean and graduate student Katie Cronin have the Bulldogs goals this season. Bean leads the team with 18 shots on goal. Junior goalkeeper Jessica Rinaldi has played all five contests for the Bulldogs. She has made 20 saves this season and maintained a .667 save percentage.

Vermont is 1-3-0 all-time against the Bulldogs, all four meetings have been in the last eight years. Bryant won the last meeting 2-1 on September 15, 2019.
Alex West scored the lone goal for the Catamounts that afternoon.
