HOW IT HAPPENED
• The River Hawks' offense clicked early with a pair of goals in the first two minutes from Molly Shaw and Izzy Liquori. The Catamounts quickly countered with goals from
Grace Giancola and
Dani Paterno.
• Liquori quickly netted one more goal before Vermont rattled off five unanswered goals in just over five minutes. UVM closed out the opening half with a 10-1 run in the final 15:25 for the 12-4 lead at the break.
• Paterno opened the scoring for the Cats in the second half with a free position marker 1:33 into the frame.
Maris Large converted on a pair of free position shots for Vermont and Liquori mixed in a goal for UML over the next 7:54.

Meghan O'Connor and
Ava Vasile added goals for the Catamounts later on in the second half as Vermont took a 17-8 lead with seven minutes remaining in the contest.

• Vasile and Paterno led the UVM offense with four goals each. Vasile posted a team-high eight shots, which included six shots on goal. Paterno tallied seven shots – five were on goal.
• Large, Ballard, and O'Connor also had multi-goal performances. Large and Ballard produced three goals each and O'Connnor added a pair.

Jackie Shipp and
Sophie McLaughlin split time in goal for the Catamounts. Shipp entered the game with 6:44 left and recorded three stops.
