COACH'S QUOTE
"Today's result was a committed defensive effort and a good America East win on the road," said head coach Rob Dow. "We continue to see more depth step up such as Vitale with the game winner and Edgar Vargas with the shutout. With two regular season games left, we'll have to continue to improve our attack in order to be in the hunt for playoffs."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Vitale's decisive goal came in the 34th minute. The Catamounts set up a free kick and booted a ball into the box. After some ping-pong action, Alex Nagy chipped a ball up to Vitale, who snuck a shot inside the far post.
  • In the last minute of the first half, Zach Barrett's header was labeled for the top right corner but was denied by UML goalie Jacob Heihsel.
  • Two minutes into the second half, Evan Rouleau tried to double the lead but his header missed just wide to the left.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Vitale is the second Catamount to tally a first-career goal this season. Noah Egan scored his first collegiate goal against NJIT last Friday.
  • Nagy has registered at least one point in two out of the last three games.
  • Vargas earned his first-career clean sheet in his first-career start and stopped two shots.
  • With the sweep, UVM leads the all-time series against UML 4-2-3.
  • When the Cats Win, the Community Wins. With each Catamount win, Vermont Mutual Insurance donates $100 to the Vermont Foodbank. For 2020 they donated $15,000 to Spectrum Youth and Family Services. A special thank you to Vermont Mutual Insurance for their support. Vermont Mutual Insurance, protecting Vermonters since 1828.
