The duel in Newark is the second of three road games for the Catamounts this season. UVM traveled to New Hampshire on Sunday and will make one more stop at Maine on Sunday, April 4.
SCOUTING NJIT
The Highlanders are 2-2-1 overall this year with a 0-1-1 mark in their first America East season. In the conference preseason rankings, NJIT was picked seventh with 35 points – two spots ahead of Vermont. The dynamic duo of Corbi Reifschneider and Lauren Chamberlain lead the offensive attack with two goals each. Reifschneider netted her two goals in a 3-1 season-opening victory against Drexel. Chamberlain found the back of the net in a 1-0 victory against Wagner on February 28 then again in a 1-1 draw with Maine on March 14. Saylor has made 19 of her 33 saves in conference play and has recorded a 1.48 goals-against average this season.
CATS VS. THE GARDEN STATE
Thursday's matinee is the first ever meeting between the two programs. The Cats have played nine matches against schools from New Jersey with a 5-3-1 record. Thursday's contest will be the first game against a New Jersey-based school since 2014 when the Green and Gold traveled to Fairleigh Dickinson.
