MCLAUGHLIN DEFENDS HER WEEKLY AWARD
For the second week in a row, goalie
Sophie McLaughlin was named America East Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. McLaughlin helped the Catamounts to a 17-10 win at Binghamton on Saturday. The junior from Keene, New Hampshire made 12 saves, her third straight game with at least 10 saves. She currently leads the league with a .644 save percentage and 14.50 saves per game.

The Catamounts have won three out of their first four games of the season. UVM is 3-1 overall through its opening four games for the fourth time in the last decade – 2012, 2014, and 2019.
SCOUTING UMASS
The Minutewomen bring a three-game winning streak to Burlington. UMass topped UMass Lowell 16-7 on March 10, edged UConn 15-14 in overtime three days later, then capped off the streak with a 19-8 victory over Holy Cross on Sunday. UMass has used a balanced offensive attack as 16 players have recorded a point, including seven with 10-plus. Haley Connaughton paces the team with 23 points on 12 goals and 11 assists. She is coming of a six-point game with a hat trick and three assists in the Holy Cross on Sunday. Kelly Marra has scored a team-high 14 goals and follows Connaughton with 19 points. Marra has netted eight goals in her last two games and 12 goals in her last four outings. Lauren Hiller has started all six games in goal and has recorded a 12.10 goals-against average this season.
INSIDE THE SERIES
Wednesday will be the first meeting between the two programs since 2015. UVM has beaten its regional rival twice – a 20-8 victory in Amherst in 1993 and a 14-4 win a year later in the same location.
