HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Catamounts started the day strong with a win in the 200 medley relay. UVM's combination of Kira Parker, Jenny O'Neil, Vivian Nguyen and Mina Poppas finished in a time of 1:50.00 .83 seconds faster than Maine's top group.
- Poppas continued the green and gold trend claiming wins in the 200 free (1:56.71) and 500 free (5:16.98) for the Catamounts.
- Parker's two wins for Vermont came in the 100 back (58.19) and 100 free (53.98). Parker's win in the 100 back made it three wins in as many meets for her in the event.
- Rivers won the 200 fly for the second straight meet Sunday. Her time of 2:11.68 was her fastest of the season. She also won the 200 IM for the Catamounts, besting her nearest competition by .28 seconds with a mark of 2:13.52.
- Vivian Nguyen earned her first individual win of the season in the 100 fly for Vermont. She finished in a time of 59.77 and was the only competitor under the minute mark.
- Beth Hartog won her first race of the season in the 200 back for the Catamounts. She finished in a time of 2:06.99. It was the best non-championship time in the event in her career. This afternoon's win was her fifth career in the event.
- Emily Murphy won the three-meter diving for the Catamounts with 246.97 points. She placed second in the one-meter with 246.37 points. UVM's Chloe Smith placed third in both competitions.
When the Cats Win, the Community Wins. With each Catamount win, Vermont Mutual Insurance donates $100 to the Vermont Foodbank. For 2020 they donated $15,000 to Spectrum Youth and Family Services.
