- Dante Treacy hit a jumper with 5:54 left in the opening frame, to spark a 12-5 run for UNCG. Jalen White capped off the run with a pair of free throws to give the Spartans a 24-23 advantage with 0:30 left on the clock. In the final seconds, Kam Gibson drove from the top of the key and converted on a contested layup to give Vermont a 25-24 lead at the break.
- The Spartans opened the second half on a 12-4 run to take a 36-29 lead with 13:57 left in regulation. The seven-point advantage was UNCG's largest of the night.

- UNCG took back the lead with 3:45 left on the clock when Treacy drilled a three pointer and Mohammad Abdulsalam added a basket. Mazzulla pulled Vermont back to within one, down 50-49 with 2:16 left, but the Catamounts couldn't get the equalizer.
