SCOUTING THE TERPS
Maryland enters Saturday's game having played twice since the NCAA season opened on November 9. The Terrapins registered wins over Quinnipiac (W, 83-69) and George Washington (W, 71-64). Qudus Wahab has averaged a double-double to lead Maryland early in the season. The 6-11 forward has averaged 17.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in the first two games. Rhode Island transfer Fatts Russell is second on the team in scoring, posting 13.5 points per game and a team-high 2.5 assists per game. The Terrapins were selected fifth in the Big Ten preseason poll.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Vermont makes its third ever trip to College Park, Maryland to face the Terps. Maryland has won both contests, but the most recent matchup in 2008 was a tight one. Marqus Blakely dropped 23 points for the Catamounts who took the Terrapins to overtime, before suffering an 89-74 loss. Mike Trimboli (17 points) and Colin McIntosh (14 points) also registered double figures in College Park.

AGAINST THE BIG TEN
The Catamounts face a Big Ten opponent for the first time since the 2017 NCAA Tournament against fourth-seeded Purdue. Saturday is Vermont's 20th all-time meeting with a Big Ten school. The Catamounts have wins over Ohio State and Rutgers in their program history.

DOUBLE FIGURES AT UNI
Ben Shungu and
Isaiah Powell registered double figures for the Catamounts in their season-opening victory at Northern Iowa on Thursday. Shungu paced the Catamounts with 19 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the field. Powell tallied 17 points and sank a trio of three pointers to match a career high.

Robin Duncan scooped up 11 rebounds on Thursday to match a career high. The senior registered 10 of his 11 boards on the defensive glass.
