VESTAL, N.Y. – The Vermont (11-4-2, 6-1-1 AE) offense exploded for its highest output of the 2021 campaign to defeat Binghamton (7-9-1, 2-6 AE) 4-1 in the regular season finale on Monday night. The Catamounts match their single-season record for most conference wins (6) for only the fourth time in program history.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Catamounts opened the scoring in the 19th minute on a goal by Nacho Lerech. A deep ball by Cole Richardson sent Lerech on the run for his sixth tally of the season. Richardson's assist was his first collegiate point.
- Joe Morrison added to the UVM lead with his second goal of the season in the 31st minute. The senior converted on a pass from Garrett Lillie in the 18-yard box. Lerech was credited with the secondary assist. Vermont took the 2-0 lead into the break.
- Alex Nagy showed off his nifty foot skills in the 51st minute for his fifth goal of the season, and a three-goal Catamount lead. The senior received a ball from Matt Black and faked right, fooling a Binghamton defender, before blasting a left-footed shot past Ryan McGovern (1 save).
- A pair of red cards were assessed to the Bearcats in the second half and the Catamounts capitalized on the advantage. Jared Leheta netted his first goal wearing the Green & Gold in the 59th minute. Nagy was credited with the assist.
- Binghamton netted its lone goal in the 73rd minute on a kick from Georges Richard that found the upper left corner. Will Noecker assisted on the Bearcats' goal.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Nate Silveira (3 saves) saw action in the first 70 minutes of the game for the Catamounts. Brendan Pulley played the final 20 minutes for Vermont.
- Nagy matched a season-high three points for the third time this season, and the second-straight game.
- Lerech's three-point game is his first since his UVM debut against Iona on August 26.
- With today's win, Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate $100 to Vermont Foodbank as part of the Cats Win, Community Wins initiative.
