NEWARK, N.J. – Noah Egan netted the game's only goal in the fourth minute as Vermont (7-3-1, 2-1-0 AE) defeated NJIT (3-7-1, 1-3-0 AE) 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Mal Simon Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Catamounts quickly went on the attack from the start of the game and earned an early corner kick. Vermont converted on the set piece when Joe Morrison found Egan to the left of the NJIT goal where he netted his second tally of the season.
- UVM had a 5-0 shot advantage through the opening 45 minutes with Matt Black registering two shots. JoJo Moulton-Condiotti had Vermont's second shot on goal when he launched a kick from the left of Samuel Reisgys (3 saves) that was stopped by the NJIT goalkeeper.
- In the 60th minute, Alex Nagy fired a left-footed kick from outside of the 18-yard box and rattled a shot off the post to test Reisgys.
- The Catamounts outshot the Highlanders 4-2 in the final 30 minutes of the afternoon. Both NJIT shots sailed wide of the UVM goal.
INSIDE THE BOX
- Nate Silveira was only forced to make one save behind a stingy Vermont defense. The senior's lone stop came in the 58th minute.
- Nacho Lerech was credited with three shots to lead the Catamounts.
- Matt Black also registered multiple shots with two on the day.
