ROAD WARRIORS
The Catamounts have won eight out of their last 10 road game dating back to last year. Last season, Vermont posted a 7-2 record on the road including five victories against non-conference opponents. The Green and Gold kept the ball rolling in the 2020 season opener with a 19-11 win at Merrimack last Saturday.
CAUSING HAVOC
Vermont ranks fifth nationally with 14.50 caused turnovers per game among teams who have played at least one game. The Green and Gold caused 15 turnovers at Merrimack, then 14 more on Sunday against Colgate. In America East,
Carolyn Carrera shares the top spot with UNH's Caroline Hernon with seven caused turnovers.
JUMPING ON THE SCENE
Freshman
Ava Vasile is among the league's top goal scorers. Vasile's seven goals are tied for second with Stony Brook's Sarah Pulis and Taryn Ohlmiller. On Sunday, Vasile guided the offensive attack with four goals on four shot attempts.
SCOUTING BRYANT
The Bulldogs have split their first two games of the year with a 14-12 win against Quinnipiac last Wednesday and a 12-7 loss to in-state rival Brown on Saturday. Bryant is paced by Cassidy Burns with seven points. The sophomore has netted three goals and doled out four assists, including three dimes against the Bears. Caitlin Bolen and Maggie Pressler had added five points apiece. Bolen has scored a team-best four goals and has been credited with one assist. Pressler has used more of a balanced attack with three goals and two assists. Goalie Giana Kapoosuzian has recorded a 12.00 goals-against average in 120 minutes of action. Bryant was picked to finish fourth in the Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The Cats and Bulldogs will meet for the third time ever on Wednesday. The two foes met back in 2016 when Bryant earned an 11-7 win at Virtue Field. A year later, the Bulldogs edged the Catamounts 12-8 on their home turf.
CATS IN THE OCEAN STATE
Wednesday is the seventh time that UVM will play in the Ocean State. The Catamounts played at Rhode Island back in 1983 and traveled to Brown four times between 1989-1996. The sixth meeting was the 2017 contest at Bryant.
