WOMEN'S HOCKEY NOTEBOOK
The Catamounts open the 2020-21 campaign this weekend as they host New Hampshire (1-5, 0-4) at 7 p.m. on Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday. Vermont's Hockey East opening weekend will be broadcast live for free on CBS CollegeSportsLive with Rob Ryan on the call.

THE OFFENSE RETURNS
Vermont returns 91.8% of its scoring from a season ago. Last season four Catamounts (
Maude Poulin-Labelle,
Theresa Schafzahl,
Corinne McCool and
Kristina Shanahan) had 12 or more goals. 45 of the Catamounts 85 goals from a season ago came from their now junior class.
The 2019-20 campaign saw a record seven Catamounts with 20 points or more, six of them return this season. The previous mark was four Catamounts with 20 points or more during the 2013-14 campaign.
HOME IS A GOOD PLACE TO START

Jim Plumer the Catamounts are 2-3-3 in home openers at Gutterson Fieldhouse. Vermont's most recent win in a home opener that was also a league contest came on October 9, 2016 as they defeated No. 9 Boston University 3-2.
In the program's Division I history the Catamounts are 5-9-5 in home openers. Vermont is 3-4-1 in season openers under Coach Plumer. Last season Vermont opened its campaign with a 3-1 win at RIT.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
UNH is 1-5-0 this season after a pair of 2-1 defeats to Maine at home last weekend. The Wildcats lone win came in a 4-3 decision over No. 8 Boston University on December 5.
Sophomore forward Tamara Thiérus leads the team in scoring with four goals and two assists for six points. She had three points in the Wildcats upset win over the Terriers on December 5.
Freshman forward Nicole Kelly was named Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week on December 7 after picking up three assists against Boston University.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The Catamounts are 14-28-6 in the all-time series with the Wildcats as the conference foes square off for the 49th and 50th time this weekend. The teams split the season series 1-1-1 during the 2019-20 season.
In the Wildcats lone trip to Gutterson Fieldhouse on October 18 last season the teams skated to a 3-3 tie.
Lilly Holmes scored shorthanded for the Catamounts and Blanka Skodova made 20 saves.
On Saturday, it will have been 406 days since the Catamounts last faced UNH. Skodova made 25 saves in a 1-0 shutout win at the Whittemore Center on November 9, 2019.
Lily Humphrey notched her first career game-winning goal in the tilt.
HOCKEY EAST ANNOUNCES CHANGE TO STANDINGS AND PLAYOFFS
Hockey East made two announcements with regards to standings and the tournament on Tuesday (Dec. 15).
It was announced that all games played against league teams will count toward the final standings used to determine tournament seeding, including all games previously played under the "Flex Game" designation.
Hockey East also announced that all eligible teams will qualify for the 2021 Hockey East Tournament.
