BURLINGTON, Vt. – Emily Amano's 97th-minute header lifted the Colgate Raiders (1-5-1) over the Vermont Catamounts (2-3-1) in a 2-1 overtime match on Friday night at Virtue Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Colgate opened the scoring in the sixth minute when Ellis Miller blasted a kick over Kacey Lambertson (5 saves). The junior forward received a short pass from Abby Sotomayor in the box and found the upper 90 for her first goal of the season.
• Vermont challenged Colgate with a great chance in 20th minute. Several Catamounts swarmed around the Raiders' goal and Karen Wallace fired a shot that was swallowed up by Kelly Chiavaro (9 saves).
• Colgate nearly doubled its lead minutes later when Mara Cosentino drifted past the UVM defense as she chased after a loose ball, hooked a shot left of the goal.
• The Raiders continued on the offensive with a pair of chances in the opening 15 minutes of the second half. Miller forced a steal in the Vermont zone and nearly tallied her second marker of the game, but missed the net wide.
• Minutes later, Wallace had an opportunity to tie the game for UVM when she received a cross in the box, but lifted a shot over the Colgate goal.
• The Catamounts tied the game in the 85th minute when Natalie Durieux directed a cross into the box that ricocheted off a Raiders' defender past Chiavaro.
• Vermont had a pair of chances in overtime, but was unable to capitalize. Brooke Jenkins intercepted a pass near the Colgate goal and directed a shot toward the inner left woodwork, but Chiavaro dove across to make the save. Minutes later, Frances O'Donnell received a cross from Wallace, but chipped a shot over the net.
• Amano sealed the game when she headed a corner pass from Ruby Diodati for her second tally of the season.  

NOTES

• The Catamounts matched a season-high 10 shots on goal against the Raiders, which was previously done against Merrimack on September 1.
