PETER BALDWIN MEMORIAL GAME PRESENTED BY MORGAN STANLEY
Friday's match is the Peter Baldwin Memorial Game presented by Morgan Stanley as a part of a soccer doubleheader with the men's team. Baldwin, a 1968 graduate and 1984 UVM Athletic Hall of Fame inductee, guided the Vermont men's soccer team to three straight Yankee Conference titles and currently ranks fifth on the school's all-time scoring list with 68 points (29 goals, 10 assists). Head coach
Kristi Huizenga will select one player to wear Baldwin's No. 11 jersey in his honor based on the Catamount who best exhibits the work ethic, sportsmanship, and leadership that Baldwin held in high esteem.
ADDITIONAL PROMOTIONS
The tilt against the Raiders is also Youth Day. All kids ages 12 and under wearing a soccer jersey will receive free admission into the game. Fans are encouraged to stick around after the game to Kick with the Cats, also presented by Morgan Stanley, on the infield of Livak Track adjacent to Virtue Field.
AMERICA EAST NOD FOR LAMBERTSON
Junior goalie
Kacey Lambertson was named America East Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. The Matawan, New Jersey native collected her third career weekly award. She helped the Catamounts snap a two-game skid with seven saves in a scoreless draw at Holy Cross on Sunday. The seven-save outing set a new season high for the junior and she logged her fifth-career clean sheet.
SCOUTING COLGATE
The Raiders have struggled to begin the 2019 campaign and bring their three-game losing streak to Burlington. The offensive attack has been spread around as seven different players have registered a point. The tandem of Emily Amano, Sage DiGiulio, Leah Lewis, and Julia Lindsey have each netted one goal. Ruby Diodati rounds out a five-way tie at the top of the scoring leaderboard with two assists. Reigning Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year Kelly Chiavaro has started all six games and has logged a 1.60 goals-against average. Coming into the season, the Raiders returned 11 starters from an 11-win team – their best season since 2014.
SCOUTING BRYANT
The Bulldogs snapped a three-game skid with a 3-1 win against Merrimack on Monday. The offensive outburst set season highs with three goals, four assists, and 22 total shots. Despite a 2-3 record, the outcome of Bryant's first four matches was decided by only one goal. Remi Manna ranks third in the Northeast Conference with six points. The senior had a big game versus the Warriors with one goal and two assists. Lexi Kraemer and Kyler Ratella follow with two points apiece. Goalie Meghan Dalton has served 452 minutes between the posts and has stopped 85.7% of the shots fired her way.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The Catamounts and Raiders will meet for the first time since 2014. UVM has topped Colgate five times but will try to beat its regional foe in Burlington for the first time since 1992.
The Cats and Bulldogs will square off for the fourth time in program history. Vermont earned a 2-1 victory at home in 2013 but has dropped the last two contests in 2017 and 2018. Last year, Bryant scored in the 12th minute to steal a win at Virtue Field.
