Jenna Janes tallied her fifth hat trick of the season but UAlbany outlasted Vermont 14-9 on Wednesday afternoon in America East action. The Green and Gold slip to 7-3 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Great Danes finished a 2-on-1 scoring chance three minutes into the game, but the Catamounts answered on their next possession. Alex Vignona found Elise Koehl in the middle of the defense, who buried her 34th goal of the year.
- UAlbany netted four consecutive goals and grabbed a 5-1 lead with eight minutes left in the half.
- UVM responded with three unanswered goals in the last two minutes of the period. Grace Giancola got the attack started then Janes scored two goals in the final minute including a free position chance.
- The Great Danes prevented the Cats from carrying momentum into the second half. UAlbany produced four goals in a five-minute stretch and padded its lead to 9-4.
- For the rest of the afternoon, the conference foes swapped scoring plays, as the Catamounts could not gain any further ground.
GAME NOTES
- Janes recorded her hat trick on four shot attempts and won four draw controls.
- Giancola added two goals and pulled down a team-high five draw controls.
- Koehl matched Giancola with two goals and picked up a ground ball.
- Jenny Caoili and Dani Paterno rounded out the scoring attack with one goal each.
- Goalie Maddy Kuras stopped a season-high 16 shots and registered a team-best eight ground balls.
- The defeat snaps UVM's six-game road winning streak which was tied for the fourth-longest streak of its kind in Division I.
- Despite the setback, the Cats' 7-3 overall record is the best 10-game start in the last five seasons.

Vermont Men's & Women's Lacrosse Coaches invite program alumni back for a joint alumni day with a doubleheader and reception for program alumni on Saturday. The day will start at 11 a.m. with women's lacrosse hosting Stony Brook in the inaugural Vanessa Cox #23 Memorial Game. The men's lacrosse team will continue the action at 2:30 p.m. against UAlbany.
