ROCK HILL, S.C. – The UVM women's lacrosse had eight players score a goal in a 15-10 non-conference win at Winthrop on Thursday. The Catamounts improve to 5-1 on the year after earning their third consecutive victory while the Eagles drop to 1-7.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Catamounts jumped out to an early 2-0 lead when Jenny Caoili and Elise Koehl got the ball rolling.
- The Eagles clawed back and took a 6-5 lead with 10:26 left in the first half after Lauren Morris (4 goals, 2 assists) and McKenna Blick (4 goals, 1 assist) combined for four goals.
- UVM regrouped and notched three unanswered goals for an 8-6 lead by halftime.
- With the score tied at 9-9 early in the second half, the Green and Gold rattled off six consecutive scores to put the game out of reach, highlighted by a pair of goals from Maris Large.
GAME NOTES
- Alex Vignona registered a team-high five points with one goal and four assists.
- A trio of Catamounts logged a hat trick – Caoili, Koehl, and Large.
- MacKenzie Bolt matched the trio with three points after scoring two goals and tallying an assist.
- Reigning America East Rookie of the Week Grace Giancola won 14 of the team's 17 draw controls. The redshirt freshman logged 23 draw controls during UVM's two-game Carolina road trip.
- Maddy Kuras made 10 saves to pick up her 15th-career win. The senior moves into a sixth-place tie with Kate McBride (2001-04) on the school's all-time wins list.
- Thursday was the second all-time meeting between the two programs as Vermont evened the series at 1-1.
- With the victory, the Cats Win, Community Wins campaign and Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate $100 to Make-A-Wish Vermont; bringing this year's total to 45 wins and $4,500.
