AMERICA EAST CENTURY MARK
John Becker has accrued 99 career America East victories during his eight-year tenure with the Catamounts. He ranks seventh all-time in league history and his .832 career conference winning percentage tops the other six winningest coaches on the list. A win on Saturday would help him reach the America East century mark in 120 career league games – the fastest of any coach in conference history.
BECKER IN FEBRUARY
The month of February has treated
John Becker and the Cats well. UVM's head coach owns a 46-8 (.852) career record in the second month of the calendar year. Becker's .852 career winning percentage in February is his best mark of any month.
DUNCAN DANDIES
In last Saturday's 21-point win at Stony Brook,
Ernie Duncan and
Everett Duncan combined for 45 points, including a career-high 21 points from Everett. The Duncan duo shot 13-for-25 (52.0%) from the floor, pulled down 12 boards, made five three-pointers, dished out four assists, and hit 14-of-17 free throws.
BEST 21-GAME STARTS
The Cats are off to their third straight 16-5 start and eighth in school history. In the last 15 seasons, the previous five 16-5 starts have resulted in either an NCAA Tournament (2003-04, 2004-05, 2016-17) or NIT berth (2010-11, 2017-18).
ROAD WINNING STREAKS
UVM has won its last 22 regular season conference road games, the longest streak of its kind in America East history. The Green and Gold have also reached the win column in their last four road contests this season, which is tied for the third-longest active streak in the country.
SCOUTING UMASS LOWELL
The River Hawks have been one of the early surprises in conference play. Picked last in this year's America East preseason rankings, UML sits fourth in the league standings and have won four out of its last five games. In conference play, UMass Lowell has the third-highest scoring offense (72.1 ppg) and team field-goal percentage (44.3%). The River Hawks are one of the top teams at defending the three-point shot. League opponents are shooting 28.9% from the outside against the River Hawks, the second-lowest average. Christian Lutete leads his peers with a 22.1 conference scoring average and has posted 30.0 points per game in his last three outings. Obadiah Noel follows with 15.9 points per game during league play. He has also complimented his scoring with a 5.3 conference rebounding average.
INSIDE THE SERIES
In the young series with the River hawks, the Catamounts hold an 8-2 edge and have won the last four meetings. UML's pair of wins came as a part of a season sweep in 2015-16. In fact, UMass Lowell's 100-93 win on Feb. 8, 2016 was the last time Vermont surrendered a regular season conference road game.
