DURHAM, N.H. – Meghara McManus' deflection on the power play lifted the New Hampshire Wildcats (6-4-2, 5-3-1 HEAW) over the Vermont Catamounts (4-2-4, 1-2-2 HEAW) in a 2-1 overtime contest on Friday night at the Whittemore Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vermont outshot the Wildcats 12-3 in the opening frame. The Catamounts had several scoring chances in first period, most notably Anna Erickson's one-timer as she was falling that whistled closely by Ava Boutilier (24 saves) and the UNH goal.
- Emily Rickwood opened the scoring for New Hampshire with 4:46 left in the opening period. The Wildcat forward capitalized on a puck that bounced through traffic and landed on her stick before she delivered a shot past Blanka Škodová (21 saves). Tori Howran and Tamara Thierus had assists on the power-play goal. Â Â
- The Catamounts continued to outshoot UNH in the second period with an 8-7 edge in the frame and a 20-10 shot advantage heading to the final period. Â
- New Hampshire applied pressure in the third period, but Vermont was able to tie the game on Ève-Audrey Picard's third goal of the season. The senior captain collected a pass from Lily Humphrey on the rush and slipped the puck between her legs and around a UNH defender before lifting a shot over the glove of Boutilier. Sara Levesque had the secondary assist for the Catamounts.
- Vermont was penalized in overtime and New Hampshire capitalized on the man-advantage. McManus deflected a point-shot from Carlee Turner that took a high bounce that came down over the shoulders of Škodová. Rickwood collected her second point with an assist on the game-winner.

The Catamounts return to the Whittemore Center on Saturday (Nov. 9) at 3 p.m. for the final game of the season series with New Hampshire.
