BURLINGTON, Vt. – The UVM men's soccer team scored four times in the second half on its way to a 4-0 win against UMBC on Saturday afternoon. The Catamounts grabed their fourth win in a row and stand at 11-5 overall, plus 5-1 in the conference standings.

COACH'S QUOTE
"It was a special day to score four goals on Senior Day against UMBC who is a really good opponent," head coach Rob Dow said. "The production from this senior class has been really exciting and it was great to get some of our guys like Patrick McCue on the field in today's win."
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Ívar Örn Árnason scored twice in a two-minute span to begin the second half. In the 47th minute, he was presented with a penalty kick. The senior tried to drive a low shot under UMBC keeper Quantrell Jones (4 saves), but was denied. Off the deflection, Árnason rushed towards the net and buried the rebound into the left side of the net. He added a second goal in the 49th minute with a line drive inside of the far post after Adrian Gahabka worked the goal line and dished cross into the box.
• The Catamounts tacked on a third goal in the 65th minute. From midfield, Luke Hansen pushed the ball up the left side of the field and sent a feed out wide for Frosti Brynjólfsson. The freshman made one move to sneak past a defender and found Jon Arnar Barðdal sprinting up the seam for the one-timer.
• Rasmus Tobinski capped off the offensive surge with an unassisted goal in the 80th minute.

GAME NOTES

• Goalie Aron Runarsson set a new career high with 12 saves. The senior netminder moved into sole possession of third place on UVM's career wins list (28) and sits in a ninth-place tie with his 14th career clean sheet.
• Brynjólfsson has been credited with an assist in four consecutive matches and six out of his last seven outings.
• Prior to the game, Vermont honored its seven seniors with a Senior Day ceremony presented by the UVM Alumni Association. The Class of 2020 includes Ívar Örn Árnason, Jon Arnar Barðdal Adrian Gahabka, Patrick McCue, Aron Runarsson, Lucas Shaw, and Arnar Steinn Hansson.
• With the victory, the Cats Win, Community Wins campaign and Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate $100 to Make-A-Wish Vermont; bringing this year's total to 90 wins and $9,000. 

WHO'S NEXT
