FINAL SCORE: Vermont 1, Dartmouth 0
HANOVER, N.H. – UVM sophomore and Bow, New Hampshire native Alex Nagy recorded his first-career game-winning goal and gave Vermont a 1-0 non-conference victory at Dartmouth on Tuesday night. The win snapped the Big Green's 23-game home unbeaten streak and helped the Green and Gold improve to 6-4 overall.

COACH'S QUOTE
"I thought we left a lot on the table after the Albany game but I talked with the guys after tonight and told them this is what we needed," head coach Rob Dow said. "Some of the young guys stepped up and sacrificed for the win. It felt a little bit like a playoff performance."
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Ívar Örn Árnason came close to giving the Cats an early lead in the 11th minute. From the left side of the 18-yard box, the junior wrapped a shot through traffic but the ball clanked off the right post.
• UVM's defense came up with a big stop 10 minutes later to preserve the scoreless tie. Dartmouth's Tiger Graham fired a shot from 10 yards out that was stopped by keeper Aron Runarsson, then Jordan Bailon tried to finish the rebound but Runarsson kicked the ball away with his outstretched right foot.
• In the final seconds of the half, Dartmouth's Clayton Molter broke free on the right side and rifled a low strike to the near post but Runarsson deflected the ball away.
• The Catamounts broke through in the 63rd minute with Nagy's second goal of the season. Frosti Brynjólfsson lined a low cross from the right side and Nagy drove a one-timer into the left side of the net.
• In the final minutes, the Big Green turned up the offensive intensity but UVM's back line blocked three key shots to hold the lead.

GAME NOTES

• Runarsson recorded four saves and logged his 24th career win. The senior moved up to No. 6 on the school's career wins list. 
• UVM earned its first victory against Dartmouth since 2008 and first in Hanover since 1999. 
• With the victory, the Cats Win, Community Wins campaign and Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate $100 to Make-A-Wish Vermont; bringing this year's total to 67 wins and $6,700.
