WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – In a match that saw three goals in the first half, Vermont battled the damp conditions but fell 2-1 on the road at Hartford on Thursday afternoon in America East action. The Catamounts slip to 2-6-2 overall and 0-2-1 in the league standings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hawks cashed in a two-on-one opportunity in the 13th minute. Kaila Lozada sprinted into the left side of the box and dished a cross to Sierra Stone, who buried a one-timer into the bottom right corner of the net.
- Stone added her second goal of the afternoon five minutes later. Skyler Vitiello sent a feed from the right corner and Stone drove a shot inside of the near post.
- Brooke Jenkins cut the deficit in half in the 23rd minute off a rebound opportunity. After the Hawks cleared a UVM corner kick, Maddie Masengarb tracked down the loose ball and lofted a cross towards the far post. Angie Salvi tried to score with a header off the feed but the ball deflected off the crossbar and Jenkins stood in a perfect position to knock in the rebound.
- UVM's defense came through with a big stop in the late stages of the game. In the 81st minute, the Hawks launched two shots from close range but the Cats' back line blocked each attempt to keep the 2-1 score intact.

- Kacey Lambertson finished the match with three saves.
- Jenkins' goal was the first of the season and the 13th of her UVM career.
- Karen Wallace led the team with three shot attempts. Jenkins and Salvi followed with two shots each.
