Vermont (1-1-0) returns to Catamount Country for a two-game set this weekend. The Catamounts will host Northeastern (1-1-0) on Friday (Aug. 31) at 7 p.m. under the lights and LIU Brooklyn (1-0-1) on Sunday at 4 p.m.

PROMOTIONS
Sunday's match against the Blackbirds is Poster Day presented by UVM Print and Mail. Fans are encouraged to stick around after the game to receive a free poster and get autographs from the entire team. Sunday is also Youth Day – fans ages 12 and under wearing a soccer jersey will receive free admission.
REGIONAL RANKINGS
After the split weekend in North Carolina, UVM climbed to No. 4 in this week's United Soccer Coaches Northeast Regional Poll. The Catamounts also received seven votes in the national rankings.
SCOUTING NORTHEASTERN
The Huskies opened the 2018 campaign with a 3-0 clean sheet against Niagara last Friday but suffered a 2-1 overtime setback at LIU Brooklyn on Monday. Ryan Massoud has emerged as Northeastern's primary scoring threat. Massoud has netted three goals on four shot attempts and earned Rookie of the Week honors from both the Colonial Athletic Association and New England Soccer Journal on Monday. In net, Noah Abrams has recorded a 0.98 goals-against average and one shutout in 183 minutes of action.
SCOUTING LIU BROOKLYN
The Blackbirds will spend the weekend in the twin state region. On Friday, LIU Brooklyn will visit New Hampshire before coming to Catamount Country on Sunday. The Blackbirds are unbeaten at 1-0-1 through two games with a 1-1 draw against Iona on Aug. 24 and a 2-1 overtime victory at Northeastern on Monday. In two games, Fredrik Mathisen has scored a pair of goals on his only two shot attempts of the season. Between the pipes, LIU Brooklyn has used separate keepers in each match – Anthony Sciola and Sam Ilin. Sciola made nine saves in the draw with Iona while Ilin stopped five shots in the win against Northeastern.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The Catamounts own a 14-7-1 record against their former America East rival Northeastern. UVM began the series with a 13-3-1 mark from 1985-2001 but NU has claimed four of the last five contests. Vermont and LIU Brooklyn will go head-to-head for only the fourth time. The Blackbirds won the first two games back in the late-1960's but the Cats reached the win column with a 3-0 clean sheet at Virtue Field in 2016.
