COACH'S QUOTE
"We executed our game-plan really well. First half we just couldn't get anything going offensively but our defense was great," Cioffi Men's Basketball Head Coach John Becker said. "It's hard to close out these games on the road against good teams but we made enough free throws and got enough stops."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Vermont jumped out to a 9-2 advantage just five minutes in to the first half when Ernie Duncan nailed the first of his two first-half three-pointers.
  • The Cats' built a double-digit lead on two occasions in the first 20 minutes, the latter of which on a Ra Kpedi jump-hook in the lane to make it 22-12.
  • For the second straight game, Vermont stormed out of the locker room and controlled play to start the second half. An 8-2 run courtesy of Anthony Lamb and Ernie Duncan gave UVM its biggest lead of the game, 53-39, at the 7:42 mark.
  • George Mason mounted a comeback in the late stages of the half cutting the lead to three with under ten seconds to play but the Cats sealed the 3-0 road-trip at the free throw line.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Lamb and Duncan both scored in double-figures in the second half
  • The Catamount defense locked down George Mason in the first half holding the Patriots to just 8-for-23 from the field and 1-for-8 from three-point land
  • In just ten minutes off the bench, Samuel Dingba grabbed three offensive rebounds
  • UVM scored the first six points of the game and never trailed leading for more than 39 of the game's 40 minutes
  • The Catamounts notched their first win in three tries against George Mason
