OFFENSIVE OUTBURST
The Catamounts scored three goals on their way to a 3-0 clean sheet against UMBC last Sunday. The three-goal effort set a new season high and it was the highest single-game goal total for UVM since topping Charleston Southern 3-1 on Sept. 18, 2016.

MAKING SHOTS COUNT
Vermont is 3-1-1 this season when beating or matching its opponent in the shots on goal battle. The only loss was at the hands of St. Mary's despite firing nine shots on goal, but the Cats have rebounded with wins over Sacred Heart and UMBC along with a draw against Hartford.

SCOUTING NEW HAMPSHIRE
UNH, the preseason favorite in this year's America East Preseason Coaches' Poll, is 3-1-1 over its last five matches. Last weekend, the Wildcats posted a 1-0 win over reigning conference champion Stony Brook and handed the Seawolves their only conference loss this year. New Hampshire also has one of the top defenses during America East play with one goal surrendered in four games. Goalkeeper Mia Neas, tabbed the America East Defensive Player of the Week twice this season, ranks first in the league with a .938 save percentage and a 0.23 goals-against average versus conference rivals. On the offensive end, Liz Lane has scored three goals for the Wildcats, all game-winners, including one in Sunday's victory against Stony Brook.

SCOUTING MAINE
The Black Bears pulled off a 1-0 upset over UNH in the league opener on Sept. 27, but have struggled since with three straight defeats. Despite the setbacks, Maine has the fourth-highest scoring offense in the league with 62 points. Julia Mahoney ranks fifth in America East with four assists and sits 10th with 12 points. Nicole Bailey follows with 11 points and has netted a team-best five goals. In net, Annalena Kriebisch is tied for second in the conference with 61 saves and has posted the second-best save percentage at .772.

INSIDE THE SERIES
UVM will try to inch closer in the all-time series as UNH leads 20-15-5. Two years ago in Durham, the twin state rivals battled to a 2-2 draw. The Cats will try to claim their first win over the Wildcats since 2011.

Vermont holds a 15-10-4 edge over Maine in the head-to-head series. In what has become a heated league rivalry in recent years, the Catamounts and Black Bears have played to either a draw or one-goal game in the past six meetings. Last year, a late goal by Savana Yurick lifted UVM to a 1-0 victory at Virtue Field.
