LAST TIME OUT | Albany Highlights
UVM redshirt sophomore
Everett Duncan recorded his first career double-double as Vermont beat rival Albany 61-50 last Wednesday in a rematch of last year's America East Championship Game. UVM had four starters reach double figures as Duncan's double-double came on 10 points and a career-high 11 rebounds, including seven on the offensive glass.
Trae Bell-Haynes scored 20-plus for the fourth time in the last six games with a game-high 21 points. The senior was also one of four Catamounts with at least five rebounds.
Drew Urquhart and
Payton Henson matched Duncan with 10 points and combined for 11 rebounds.
GOING FOR AMERICA EAST HISTORY
With a win at Binghamton, the Catamounts would notch their 320th regular season America East victory since conference play began prior to the 1981-82 season. UVM is currently tied with Boston University for the most regular season league wins in conference history.
EMPIRE STATE OF MIND
Since the start of last season, Vermont is 13-1 against schools located in New York. The stretch includes victories over non-conference opponents Hofstra, Marist, and Siena along with conference rivals Albany, Binghamton, and Stony Brook.
ONE OF FEW
The Catamounts are one of 14 Division I teams remaining without a loss during league play.
STREAKY CLEAN
UVM will try to extend a trio of streaks on Wednesday. The Cats have won 28 straight regular season conference games, the longest active regular season conference winning streak in the country. Vermont's 10-game overall winning streak is the fourth-longest active streak and the Green and Gold are tied for fifth in the nation with a five-game road winning streak.
SCOUTING BINGHAMTON
The Bearcats landed in a sixth-place tie in this year's America East Preseason Coaches' Poll. Binghamton started the season off at 9-6, but have cooled down with a 1-7 mark during conference play. J.C. Show is tied for 10th in America East with a 13.1 scoring average against league rivals. The junior from Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania reached double digits in five straight games to begin the league slate, but opposing defenses have held him to 10 combined points in his last two outings. The Bearcats also have two of the top rebounders in America East play – Thomas Bruce and Willie Rodriguez. Bruce sits fifth in the league with 6.9 boards per game and tops all conference big men with 15 blocks. Rodriguez follows in seventh place with 6.1 rebounds per game.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The Catamounts have controlled the all-time series with the Bearcats and hold a 28-8 edge. UVM has won five straight and 14 of the last 16 overall dating back to 2010. From the 14 victories, the Cats have won by an average of 16.5 points per game. Last year, the Green and Gold beat the Bearcats 67-50 in Vestal and cruised to a 71-51 victory at Patrick Gym.
